Do you have the RTP for that game installed?

If it's a RM 2000 game, you'll need the RTP for RPG Maker 2000, but if it's a RM 2003 game, you'll need the RTP for 2003.

You can also install the RPG Maker programs instead of the RTP's.

You can get them from here:

I've solved the problem.

It was a matter regarding a corrupt registry key. If anyone gets this error:

- go to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{D7B70EE0-4340-11CF-B063-0020AFC2CD35}
(if it doesn't exist create it)

- Define it as a "DirectDraw Object"

- Find Quartz.dll somewhere in your pc or download it, put it in windows/system32, then register it via the regsvr32 command
