Cleaning the apartment sucks. I'm hungry and I just found a giant mosquito squished against one of the windows. Wtf was he thinking, flying right into it like that?!? Goddammit!! Now I gotta clean the windows as well. What's your tips on effective apartment cleaning? I'm thinking of turning this into a polish party, inviting friends over, give 'em vodka and let them all clean all day tomorrow but it feels like it ain't gonna work that way >_<
Effective apartment cleaning starts with throwing out all the stuff you don't need (paperwork, books, furniture, anything that clutters up the place). You will be pleasantly surprised at how nice the apartment looks after that. The next step is -- god forbid -- keeping it clean. Put the dishes back where they belong. Don't leave your clothes on the floor. Organize your paperwork as soon as it comes in. I have an incoming box, an outgoing box which I put next to the door, a box for random papers I eventually have to read (I put that in the bathroom), and I have a box for things that aren't important, which I will empty out every week if I don't figure out a place to put them. Also, filing cabinets -- but that goes without saying. Anywho, it's best to put everything you don't regularly use out of the way -- into closets, boxes, cabinets, etc.
Not that this was any help, though. I'm p. much captain obvious here.
