I am having an incredibly difficult time writing this research report. It's basically a summary of another article but I'm having some issues.
Do I have to reference everything? That may seem obvious, but I'm not sure if I'm supposed to be putting a reference after every single sentence or not which it seems like I'll end up doing when I'm summarizing ideas from the article except (Snyder et al., 2003, pp. 1). after every sentence becomes really obnoxious so maybe a more general reference on my reference page is fine, but then how do I decide what I need to reference and what I don't need to reference and if I'm referencing the article referencing another article do I reference that article or the article it is referencing holy christ
If all your references are saying the same thing don't seperate them (Hammer & Thyme, 1997; Smith & Wesson, 1814; Gough, Gough, & Hammer, 1923). There's also different ways of referencing to reduce monotony (Jordan, 1995). Michaels and Michaels concluded that climbtree rarely uses this one because he can never remember where to put the date (2009). If you're doing a lit review expect it to be reference heavy, you're not making your own points for the most part you're summarising the research.
