in that video the kid is on floor 1, and pressing the button for the top floor (141), and just SITS THERE waiting for it. He doesn't really look around (he says "nice texture" once but clearly isn't overly concerned with the appearance of the elevator) or say anything. Most of the time he sits there idly. Then when he reaches the top, he just pushes the bottom floor button. I don't understand this!
yes coulombs are "germaine", did you learn that word at talk like a dick school?

I disagree with "for reasons we can't possibly understand". yeah we can't learn to appreciate HVAC in the same way as the HVAC kid but there's still a reason why he loves em so much. why pick air conditioners over elevators? if it's just one person it could be linked to something that might have happened to them in their past, but if it's a whole group of elevator fans then there's something about elevators. besides what I already mentioned, another thing I thought of is how elevators are usually metal and shiny and a lot more intricate looking than the rest of the building. they also have their own defined space and are completely shut off from the rest of the building once the doors close.

obviously you're not understanding it if you keep coming up with possible explanations for it that don't really explain it. there is usually no deep psychological reason it's just someone latching onto something using their own internal logic that doesn't and can't make sense to other people

No ideas on the elevator dude but my theory on the HVAC kid is that maybe his dad repairs them (and lawn mowers and whatever) and he just idolizes his dad and wants to know everything about them because of that?  I guess it's just weird to think about the fact that now we have youtube and all of these other websites and so people want to share these things.

Also no I don't think he has aspergers at all, why do you think this????  When he did the videos where he talks into the camera he doesn't have any of those weirdo quirks that aspergers kids do.  He's just a kiddo who likes something weird!  The only thing that would imply this is that he's into a weird thing but maybe he has a better reason than aspergers.

[/quote]it's more than one thing, it's the process of figuring out the language of elevators. there's the obvious things like defying gravity, push buttons and sort of magestic sliding doors and then there's the less obvious things I mentioned. it's all part of the elevator experience. and why are you mentioning logic? you're not even thinking in the right direction. why do you like women??? well i like boobs and NO STOP you can only have 1 thing.

ok internal logic is psychological and if it doesn't and can't make sense to other people then it's deep. just because the elevator doesn't represent phantasy about his mother's womb doesn't mean there's not some more vanilla explanation like elevators are exciting for him in the same way elevators are terrifying for others and reviewing the parts is analagous to being interested in cars because you like driving.

Today feels like Christmas.  Got DJ Hero, my Weapon Brown book/shirt came in (the artist even drew a cowboy on the front of the envelope making a joke about my address), and got to open a big box of stuff (i.e. my parent's new computer, which is a nice atom-based acer machine running windows 7, compared to their XP machine that they've had for over 5 years now).  Except I should have eaten before dealing with any of this because now I'm v. hungry.

This is a Ugandan Bill , supported by 95 of Ugandans. It completely has nothing to do with American Christians or Senators or Rick Warren. The law is meant to protect the cultural values, virtues and norms of Ugandans. Stop blaming Christians....Muslims, Hindus, African traditionalists, and atheists in Uganda support this law.Ugandans are ready to ignore criminal colonialists and Imperialists who are keen to berate and undermine African societies with their homosexual neocolonialism.

homosexual neocolonialism.

just for the record even though I'm electronic music freak I have like no interest in gear at all. Not that I can afford it anyway but I really just find some software that can do whatever I want. Some people get ridiculous collections of synths and stuff and they don't even do anything special with it so I almost kind of avoid it because it seems like a kind of thing that would stifle creativity. I did have one of these though http://www.deepsonic.ch/deep/pix/yamaha_ys200_03.jpg and I've got to admit it's kind of a cool-looking synth, that volume knob is freaking huge. It's really only interesting as far as weird shit from Japan though, like some of these things you wonder if they ever looked 'modern', or were they just trying random shit to make the design appealing. Like will iPods look fucking old 10 years from now

but yeah I sold like any stuff I did find, I also don't do anything like, make a synth sound using every other harmonic of a sawtooth wave playing the fibonacci sequence up to the 128th digit of pi, those people are fucking insane imo too

but yeah more you think about it elevator guy is mostly weird because who else does something like that, except two other guys on youtube. At least you can talk about cars with lots of people who are also into cars

So I just found out an unsettling number of people have no idea who Winston Churchill was. One of them said, after discovering he was born 1874, and I quote: "Oh, so he was some guy in the Revolutionary War, right?"

Yes because not having intimate knowledge of him is on the same level of thinking he was a general during the Revolutionary War.

FAQS ABOUT WINSTON CHURCHILL:
1)ORATOR
2)DRUNK
3)IMPORTANT FIGURE IN WW2 AND WORLD HISTORY

these are the things you should know about Winston Churchill after learning about him every year from 2nd-12th grade i think 10 years is quite plenty to absorb some basic knowledge on the dude

edit: sorry if i offended you because you didn't know who he was either :(
