hey, i'll make some music for you. what do you need and how much of it?
jamie asked too so I sent him this:
background music for an explorational platformer. there are two things I'd like most of the music to incorporate, natural sounds and interesting percussion. by natural sounds I mean for example stone/cement breaking, city sounds, and I'm gonna add some dog barks to a song fuck ass bitch gave me. by interesting percussion I mean almost any kind of drum excluding the typical rock or jazz drumset. like tabla, bata, cajon, even congas and some tomtoms, I don't really care about the specific instrument. what I'd like to achieve with this combination is sort of an ambient music that melds a little with the environment but also brings up locality and a sort of fantasy urban exploration like Invisible Cities
there are a few other songs I'd like but it's really tough for me to describe them, because I don't know anything about making music and because they are barely even concrete ideas. less concrete than what I wrote above. this was actually easier with fuck ass bitch because his english isn't the best and I could just rattle off ideas to him and hope he picked up some of them without worrying that I'd sound like an idiot.
if you're interested or think you need a better idea of what the game's about let me know. I've been waiting for fab to respond so it's been awhile since I even thought about this thing
also I don't know how much atm. I'm not entirely sure what scale I'll be able to work at and still complete the game, so right now it's like a couple tracks in addition to what I already have.
