I didn't do VD this year although she sent me a letter out the blue a week before and I took a week to get the balls to write her back. I threw hers away because it seemed a sensible thing to do. The guy I hate most in the world is porking her and he proposed but she turned him down I think. If I had a job and the money, security etc to go about it I would totally get back with her but the reality is that I have to concetrate very hard on my degree and nothing is going to stop me from getting it. This might sound like it's a really depressing situation to be in but there's nothing I can do about it so there's no point in being all sad. Just gotta get on with things.

Anyway, onto more lighthearted things.

I went to a videogame exhibition at FACT in Liverpool yesterday because JMickle said one of his game dev buddies had won a competition with a game and the prize was having it on exhibition in FACT. The game is And Everything Started to Fall and was in a display box with a joystick rigged up to it. IMO it would've been a lot better to play it with a gamepad but they seemed to be using a wide variety of controllers across the exhibition for the sake of diversity rather than focusing on usability. It took a while to get used to playing because of this but what I played was really awesome, challenging and most of all addictive. There was always one or two people waiting to have a go on the machine which was more than any of the other games there.

It's worth noting that the exhibition was for "art games" so there were a lot of concepts that were interesting but simply for art with reduced playability

There was one with some cubes with a barcode on each side in view of a webcam and a projector screen in front which took the cube image and made it look hollow with a level inside, a bit like project natal except you had a man walking inside cubes and you had to tilt the cube to get him to walk to doorways into rooms that are on other sides of the cube. You can find it here but not play it.

Here's some pictures I took of Alexitron's game on display, they're shit because it was in a dark room and the screen was bright but I guess when he sees them he'll be made up.

They also had counter-strike goggles (see above link) you could make yourself that placed an FPS style view in each eye. I have 2 so if anyone wants me to put on in an envelope say aye.

i've seen lot of awful commercials. i mean noticed them at least. commercials directed to men are garbage like that, absolutely strange compilation and morals and whatever. i mean this is obvious as hell but how can ideals like this be obvious? this is nasty shit this shouldn't be obvious. sudendly i feel awful about being a young man, i feel dirty. i'm a fucking evil fucker that's what i think when i see those commercials. i don't want to be me

does anyone here own any bonds? is it possible to increase the maturity date on them??
