I like the animations all over the place. it seems like you can predict the trajectory because it follows the same arc every time

I'm liking Brown's new Avy. Also I was Hoping for some comments on my Computer build. That I posted near the top of this Page or middle... deepens how you see it...

Edit. I might not buy this Power supply I was reading review's and they sound like bad news since I'm hearing it fried a few rigs on the worst case and the best case it could die in about a year to 6 months witch sounds better then firing my rig.  But I think I'll pass on this Power Supply.

looks good but you need to make it crazier. like with the graphics, make some perspective stratus clouds in the sky and fossils in the ground. stuff like that. needs to be overwhelming

edit: there are bones in the ground! more significant ones maybe

If this was done to the game I would definitely spend countless hours on it. There should be multiplayer support too, though I dunno how long that would last. If you made the chaos like inSuper Stardust HD, with shit flying everywhere, you would have a solid game. Looks good so far though, is there a playable demo?

I was hoping for some one to comment on the computer I'm building..... since I don't think it's worth a new topic on the Technology forum. :(

dude, I was reading your post and was thinking this guy must be rich as fuck lol. Then I read your invoice and it really surprised me. You are getting a super computer for less than what I paid for my semi-decent dell laptop. That's a lot of info, but I guess you know what every single bit is. Personally I wouldnt care for many of those things but then again i'm not really computer literate. On a different note, that video card you're getting looks really bad ass. And the performance output (1gb holy shit I didnt know they existed for <200$) will let you play whatever your heart desires. This setup should last you a long time without having to upgrade.

I think I'm going to buy the same hard drive as you. 2 tb's around here sells for 200+. All in all though, you're getting a pretty kick ass computer in the end.

My Just Cause 2 takes 20 minutes to load now. I checked for scratches but aside from one minor scrape, its clean. I guess my xbox360's dvd drives going to die on me sooner or later. Its been fucking up a lot lately :( .

hey I was thinking about watching X-Files again because I'm kind of interested how quality it really was or if Chris Carter is really just the exact kind of dude like J.J. Abrams I remember being like does Chris Carter really have the plot written out or is he just writing the story in a way to generate as much MYSTERY as possible (did he ever explain what it was all about btw) I mean even if he was fucking with the audience the whole time I still remember he made interesting stories in the individual episodes and tried to be an ENTERTAINER unlike Lost it just felt like a clusterfuck of mysterious things happening like there is something really good happening just around the corner. Also somebody said the X-Files was humorless but I thought it had a lot of humor in it just maybe played straight like it was meant to be serious. But I dunno I haven't watched much of Lost it felt too much like some weird kind of plot crack to me like you could hate the show and still get drawn into it because the story is so intriguing it's like crack (lol somebody in a review called it 'suspense porn') Maybe I'm not reading it right is it supposed to be goofy like David Lynch etc. with SMOKE MONSTER and some other stuff I'd know about if I watched the show more. But yeah I can't go by 'X-files was scary' because I was 9 or something when the show was in its heyday (lol heyday is such a random word who says that) but Lost/Fringe never had me scared I didn't even think it was /supposed/ to be scary

but yeah that wasn't my point I meant to ask if, well I was saying in some other topic how half of all TV shows/movies ever instead of using other devices to make you care about the characters like a love story etc., a lot are like PLEASE BELIEVE ME like Enemy of the State is the best example I can think of as far as movies go, and X-Files for TV b/c Mulder is this likeable average guy who happens to believe in a bunch of conspiracy theories etc., and the Lone Gunmen were even more like ILLUMINATI shit right? and you end up wanting to believe him and the story makes less and less concessions that it could turn out he's just crazy/all a dream (pretty much no chance because it would be the cheapest way to wrap up the show if they did) so I was just wondering if people mostly just considered the show a good mystery or if there were a bunch of people who thought Chris Carter was messenger from the future and the only man who had the guts to tell the truth about vast global conspiracy. And if this is so was it like real people or just crazies from the internet. And was it at the same level as now or was even the internet a little more sane back then. And lastly even if there weren't crazy fans like that do you think those shows romanticized the idea of being a conspiracy theorist so now we have crazy christian militia people Tea Party etc.
you were right the first time, Lost can be engrossing in the ways you mentioned and that's a plus I guess but it isn't really a good show. it's ok, I keep up on it just to have something to watch. it's not supposed to be surreal or goofy and it's not scary. I think the smoke monster is supposed to be more mysterious than anything else.

I'm watching X-files from the beginning now, some of it's dumb and it isn't the greatest show ever but so far it seems a lot better than most crup on now. it is kinda scary!! fear is used pretty well so far. it isn't as scary as when I was a kid (I remember seeing part of the first episode with the guy standing in the forest and the bright lights coming from behind him, it was the scariest thing ever back then) but some of it still gives me the creeps, like the opening of the third episode. I'm enjoying it so far and scully is so pretty I would kiss her on the mouth.

something else I was thinking about is how the theme song itself was really really scary when I was a kid. it got me wondering how a melody could be so scary, and how whoever made that song knew how to make it that scary when it doesn't sound scary at all to me now as an adult

that's cool that you are watching the x-files. i like that show. there are a few tv shows which yeah have crumby writing and are kind of bad but have good intentions and i think that is one of them! star trek the next generation is another show i watch in kind of the same way. not really for what it actually is, but what it keeps taking a shot at. popular shows these days, like lost for example, don't do that and are full of crap.

Well I'm not rich I just got my Tax money and I spent most of it on Making My computer since I've been without one for about 2 or 3 years. I picked the parts since I knew how to make sure everything worked (Other then the Power Supply witch at the time I had no intentions of buying one). but now I Need to foot the rest to get it done like the power supply(witch I will be honest I Don't know to much about power supplys witch is why I almost got that PowerSupply that seem to be the computer version of a wrecking ball. I can't afford any fuck ups. Also another little note my Bro help me pick the P.S. since our original plan was to use his spare P.S.. but one hitch when we got the stuff my bro found out they made a new pin ports lol. I needed 8 pins and my bro's only had 6 pin ports. ) I can put most of it together myself other then I never put a processor on motherboard and then mount it on to my tower. but my Bro is going to help me with that (since he did go to school for this kind of stuff ) and everything after that is a cake walk.

Also the GFX card is one Big Mother Fucker lucky I got a semi- big case my bro thought it was a server tower. Also Crossfire I'm not sure it would be good Idea for me to do since my Motherboard only has one 16X and the other one is a 8X witch would decreases the power of my card but in turn it would lessen the work load. hummm..... well something to think about. well if i was to do it...it would be latter on down the road anyways.

About the Hard drive I would recommended that you make partitions to the hard drive like for your main (being the one that holds windows witch is normally the C drive) I would give it not too much space  so it dose not effected the load times as much during started up.

well I feel a little reassured now because I thought maybe xfiles was just one of those shows that REPRESENTED the 90's to me and it wasn't really very good at all/at the same level as JJ Abrams shite. Esp. because I thought maybe Chris Carter was the same way with deliberately devising a plotline that would generate the most mystery that would be like crack to people into that kind of stuff. But I'm glad to hear it's not as baldfaced as the Lost stuff and there is some sort of show in there like even if he didn't give a shit he was like... well there has to be SOME semblance of a show/plot

I wasn't so scared of the theme music but more like the way they filmed the show they would do shit like just be talking to some dude interviewing him and his voice sounds completely like AVERAGE DUDE and then the camera flips over and he a tiny freak head growing out of his chest or something. Although I think with the opening to the show sometimes they'd show something freaky like that but other times they wouldn't and it kept me on edge

Edit: I might be thinking of the beginning of Hannibal that was like what the shit thanks for the warning

That looks awesome. I do agree about adding more stuff graphically, so you should post a vid with the clouds and fossils.

Also I want a jungle level (like heart of darkness) with natives in the background with spears cheering you on (like street fighter 2)

I had trouble getting into the X-Files. I watched a few episodes scattered over the whole length of its run, but it never really grabbed me. Millennium on the other hand had me right out of the gate. You had hard profiling science counterbalanced by the focus on end times prophecy, and eventually the Lucy Butler personification of Legion. To me, Millennium was at once more "down to earth" and more "fantastical" than X-Files. Frank Black is one of my favorite tv characters of all time, and even though I know it almost certainly won't happen, I would love to see a Millennium movie where the focus was on all the 2012 paranoia.

needs a random background showing depth and different clouds first. ideally the bg could be broken up into near and far distances, so you could get different combinations. maybe an occasional random glare/lense flare. I'm not 100% sure what you're going for so obviously you can reject any of these ideas. if you need graphical help I can be of assistance (I am the most powerful ally you will find in this Game)

I am re-doing this game a bit. This desert level is gonna look way different when I'm done with it, and (thanks to jojoface) i'm gonna make a jungle level and loads of other environments and its gonna be fucking incredible.

millenium had a great, dark and menacing first season, and is well worth a watch because it has this strong apocalyptic feel to it, like the end of the world was comming and these were just random glimpses of insanity before it all broke down. It has some real unsettling momoents in it as well.
Shame the 2nd series decided it'd have a dumb arc of conspiracy and the third series turned it into x-files lite.
I'm rewatching random eps of x-files and it has it's cheese but also moments of brilliance.
