I don't know why but everything happened/came out in 1997. If you don't believe me look up 'stuff that happened in 1997'

for example South Park Pokemon Toonami started

my bad Pokemon came out in North America in 1998 the jap version of the tv show was 1997

King of the Hill came out though. I could've sworn that was before South Park by a substantial amount of time
