kinda glad i don't get lucid dreams because it would probably be boring and i need restful sleep and i hate talking about lucid dreams. you guys do have really boring dreams from what you've told GW tho and that is probably from being gamers (explore worlds where ANYTHiNG can happen within the scope of what is sellable to the worst target market ever)

There was a period of time where I read about lucid dreams and even kept a brief dream log for a short period of time and it's amazing how quickly you can build your dream recall and find yourself going lucid--a matter of a week or two here.  I think I'm going to get back into that because it brings a great deal of meaning to a period of each day that you rarely give a second thought.

i guess i could see why someone might want to TRAIN THEMSELVES TO LUCID DREAM or w/e once or something but jesus trust me it's p. dumb really.  the only time it's nice is if it's a nightmare because it basically means you can force yourself awake or just make it stop happening but tbh i rarely have nightmares.  so instead i just don't sleep as well because idk i'm too aware *_*  the times i don't lucid dream i am a million times more rested

also is that what inception was about????

I was walking home with my friends after seeing The Town and we passed by a Max-It pawn shop. My friend Zerby said aloud that he wondered if they'd accepted furniture (we have an excess of couches in our house) we figured it was unlikely since they didn't sell any.

Anyway, I casually mentioned what couch I figured we'd get rid of. A couch I felt was ugly, uncomfortable, dirty and it was one of those couches to big for one person but too small for 2. My friend Caleb got really pissy at me saying that I never use the couches as I spend little to no time out in the 'console area' where most of them are located. That there was 'no point' to me saying my opinion. Like I was an idiot for saying anything on the subject. I had no idea why he was responding this way and I didn't really have a response, so we just walked in silence for a while. I later explained that it was just casual conversation, and he said that I wanted in on selling the couch otherwise I wouldn't have brought it up. I then said that I could care less about the money (We fucking bought it for 5 dollars) and whether we got rid of the nasty couch didn't matter to me because I never sit on it.

He does this a lot, he takes shit way seriously at random times. Makes it uncomfortable stressful to talk to him. Like he's a completely arbitrary social minefield. Now, I'm human I say stupid shit on occasion and I'm OK on being called on it. But if he says something that just seems... like WRONG I've learned to just keep my mouth shut because if I call him on it he starts getting really fucking abrasive.

Argh it really frustrating. Maybe he's just paranoid? I'm pretty sure he is a only child...

Maybe its me? IDK he gets really insulting.

Is a lucid dream the same thing as like watching something on tv and falling asleep, then dreaming about what is on tv while it's happening?

Once when I was younger I was watching Jumanji and fell asleep at the part with the lion and I had a dream that the lion was chasing me around my house and yard.

Nah, I barely remember what Inception was about, but it wasn't really about lucid dreaming.

Maybe it's that lucidity is so commonplace in your dreams, but I can't see how you downplay it so easily.  The few times I've achieved it, I woke up as if from a religious experience.  I dunno, I always wake up with very strong vibes from my dreams.  I believe they're tied to the subconscious, and that there is a certain symbology behind dreams that often only the dreamer would ever understand.  To have a conscious hand in that made me pretty excited.

Then again, I've also never heard of anyone losing legit rest because they're lucid dreaming.  I always figured you were still getting good REM out of it.

I think you mean a loveseat.  Maybe Caleb's right.  Maybe you just don't know what love is.

Actually, He also threatens with violence or some form or extreme backlash over what I think are pretty stupid things. Sometimes IDK if I should take the threats seriously or if he's just kidding around.

I said I had opened the curtains this morning to let sunlight flood in and that caused him to have to get up and go to his room to sleep (He sometimes sleeps on couches because of his finicky back). Admittedly thinking back on it it was stupid of me. I figured that since sunlight had helped me wake up in the mornings at normal hours, that it'd help him too by letting his body react to the sun and naturally wake him.

When I told him that I was the one the did this, he said that if I did it again that he'd destroy my computer and he'd make sure there wasn't any evidence. So that if I valued my computer I wouldn't do it again. Now I wouldn't have done it again anyway. The threat was uncalled for. Think is IDK if he was just exaggerating to get how much he didn't want me to do it or a stupid rage thing.

Thing is my instincts tell me he wouldn't likely do it, but that doesn't mean he didn't mean the threat right then and there.

When it comes to being an actual threat,
Hes a short guy, slightly overweight but apparently knows some relatively effective martial arts. The kind where you brake arms. I don't know if he legitimately could pull anything like this off now. But I don't think he is lying about learning the stuff. I'm also pretty sure he's stronger than me.

I wouldn't want to get into a fight even if he was weaker for a giant list of reasons. But I figure that sort of info is relevant.

Anyway, we get along a lot of the time. Maybe he just must be sure that he is perceived as the bigger threat so people don't bother him?

i looked at some facebook albums and found out a girl i liked back in HS during part of my lyme and mental problems era looks exactly lie Ayn Rand now. ok i just saw an image of ayn rand nope she just looks exactly like i always pictured Dagny Taggart or any of rand's self-insertion characters. i am very uncomfortable right now aaa

we need to split this thread no one is going to read any post. no one even saw swordfish's post. i will create a what's on your surreal mind thread for posts lie this one and it will get loced for some reason (gotta loc threads) and posts about the news and other concrete stuff can stay in this thread

so i just saw a guy on another forum who considered himself to be a female character from a videogame. he said he felt like he was the reincarnation of the character, and that he changed his life to live like that character. he also said he wants to be a female and wants to have a sex change but he doesn't have the money. and that he cringes when people view him as a guy. he's not trolling.

first i facepalmed then i laughed

but actually i'm not sure what to think of this now

Probably because like I said I have lucid dreams the majority of the time so it's just HOW I EXPECT DREAMS TO BE I guess!

Usually when I don't have them is when I take some sort of medicine that causes drowsiness or have some other abnormal sleep schedule (stay up several hours later than usual or something).    Also I think the reason I lose rest over it is because it causes me to wake up more.  Even if it's just for a few seconds it's still pretty disruptive.  If I'm not having lucid dreams then I tend to not wake up like that.

that you are a bad friend. if you aren't lying at all the guy obviously has sincere issues with his gender and that those issues manifest in a VG WORLD where you can play as a character of the opposite sex isn't super surprising

epic gender fail: dude wishes he was a chick because of a video game!! watch now on youtube
