so for anyone who remembers like two months ago i posted in here like FUCK MY DAD HAS PROSTATE CANCER WHAT DO I DO. he came out of surgery day before yesterday and the doc says he got it all, so we're all pretty relieved here at home atm.

i am very behind with uni. i am capable of this stuff, i can tell that when I am actually engaged in seminars etc that I can do this crap but i have done so little of the reading and attended so few classes that I'm writing my essays for each class right now and I just don't have the stuff in my head. I'm in that position of kind of having stuff to say but it's foggy and i'm not referencing at all (at all) because i haven't read anything!

i think my last course at the university of east anglia (politics) was a joke because there was like no required reading (10, 20 pages a week) and the essays were very easy to wrrite (some people see it this way, others might see it that way...) plus i already knew half of the stuff we were talking about, so i just got by on wits and passed pretty well. i'm actually required to read for this course now and i don't think i was really prepared for that.

it doesn't help living an hour and a half away from the uni. if it's only one lecture that day, i don't go. and i'm not gonna go in just to go to the library either. i need to move in to the city, this is bogus. it's kind of an excuse but whatever, moving in to the city would actually fix this problem.

i can pull it together, but i think my grades for these essays are gonna maybe stink a little.

it's not like i have even been doing anything that's been getting in the way of my work. there's just been a lot of lying flat out in bed staring at the ceiling all day. i stink lately. i need to pick up all slacks.

you're just making excuses for yourself! I've kind of been in your position last year - I was really lazy to go to class if I only had 1 class during the day and I lived a 5 minute walk away from the university. this year I switched back to my city, but now I have over an hour commute to get to class ... it really sucks so I'm going to try and move closer downtown soon, but seriously don't let excuses like that get to you. no one but yourself can get the will to get off your ass and go to class, but if you're serious about finishing uni then you're gonna have to start doing it~~
