Strange things pop up in random conversations. I remember almost being floored when I learned that the generally accepted average I.Q. score for a college student was only in the 115-120 range. A little while back a conversation with some friends wafted towards I.Q. scores, because someone made a 'captain obvious' observation, and someone else responded with the requisite 'You sir, must be a genius!' joke. I remember reading that people can have difficulty in relating to those whose I.Q. scores fall outside of a certain range of tolerance with respect to their own, (I can't remember the exact figure because I wasn't paying attention that closely - I think it was either 20 or 30 points). Two of the people I get along with the best have an average I.Q. score of 152, so it would seem that this theory holds true, at least in my case. I just took the "just for fun" Mensa workout 'test' and got 25 out of 30. In my defense, I was IMing at the same time, so my concentration was off and I made a couple of really careless errors. I kind of wish the questions were randomized, because I'd have liked to have tried it again when I could actually sit down and pay attention to it. Oh well.
