I used to do one arm handstand pushups on only the thumb, index finger, and middle finger (I had to add the ring finger in when I used my right hand, it seemed to put less strain on my screwed up shoulder). I'm not even aiming to try to get back to that type of physique. That was back in my hard core training days where I did dangerous stuff like putting my chin in a loop of hanging rope so I could pull my legs up off the ground and hold a lotus positon (for strengthening neck muscles and everything else - although it could lead to a hanging death if you screwed up I guess). I did the "put one of a piece of rebar on the ground and the other end against your throat and bend it just by leaning forward" thing too (you start with a towel for protection, but eventually you can do it without any padding) - it relies heavily on breath control and focus. People hated me on the rope climb, because I grabbed the rope, kicked my feet up, held my body inverted, and then climbed up that way. But like I said, that sort of stuff isn't my goal anymore. I'm not even sure I could survive (at least not happily) some of the reconditioning I'd have to put myself through.
And yes, I realize you were probably being facetious about it, as I think that was actually an Empire Strikes Back reference, but just in case...
A tip for training those one armed handstand pushups - when I was first starting out, I couldn't do them at all. I worked up to it in degrees. I'd start off by putting my feet against the wall and holding my weight on one arm so that my body was parallel to the floor. As it became easier, I'd walk my feet up a little each time. I still remember the day I did my first complete one. I had done a couple reps where I was still leaning my feet against the wall a little bit, but I decided I had to try. I almost lost my balance when I pushed off of the wall, and I had to correct my posture a little, but it was really cool the first time I realized - damn, my whole body weight on one arm like that. The two fingers and a thumb deal came later with a good bit more conditioning. I think I might have a picture from when I was learning it on one of my old hard drives, I'll have to look.
