yeah i meant that i was at my summer cottage from thursday to sunday and it was clear sky+sunny+28 celcius all that time so it was awesome.
understand this though, it raised from 8 celcious max to 28 degrees within TWO DAYS and that's some huge fucking leap for a climate like Finland. you MIGHT get 28 degrees in eastern Finland only at midsummer day so it's been an exceptional ascension day.

i'm back to home now though and i pretty much cycled from work as fast as i could, swearing under my breath/vaporizing under the heat. aaa i'm frying!! bugger off!! where is the closest well!!
For real? in February it went from snowing to about 28 Celsius and humid back to snowing every other day for a week.

hey did we have a discussion yet on like I don't think it's just nostalgia making me feel that videogames now... well like even when they're cute fun games they seem AGGRESSIVELY cute to me... like every promotional art of Mario since Gamecube has made me think of those ultra eye catching pictures of mickey mouse that feel like MICKEY PROPAGANDA or something and are ultra-iconic to the point of not dehumanizing the character obviously but you know what I mean

I love when you go onto google image search and it suggests the most random shit 'eiffel tower - impressionism - cup'

I really do wish Mario was less cute. His whole design counters the idea of being cute. (Have you ever met a middle aged plumber with a mustache in real life and immediately thought: "That guy is REALLY cute!"? I just think he has the real potential to generate genuine appeal from him being simply not cute.

I'm telling you, he could be the next Popeye,  but Nintendo refuses to even attempt to capitalize on that potential.

That's funny you say that, Ragnar. There's a new Mickey Mouse game coming out called Epic Mickey that isn't cute or adorable at all.

it's not even that, Mario had some sort of genuine style going on in the old days but now it's like this retro shit that's ripping off disney so retro to a time where he didn't even exist to be retro unless mario was a cartoon character in the 40's and I was not aware

try and tell me they didn't remodel mario for the Nintendo DS version according to some archetype of what mario's supposed to look like in hindsight or whatever. Kind of like how we were talking about Pokemon in some thread and the original Game Boy version's sprites had this imperfect quality that made them more natural and genuinely cute or whatever. I'm not necessarily saying Nintendo is trying to aggressively market their character/creative product/etc., maybe part of it is like it's gotten to the point where Mario feels like a FRAUD if he's not made exactly according to the set proportions/model for the Mario(tm) character

Edit: Really Paper Mario gives off more of a Steamboat Mickey vibe tbh

Edit: That is weird if they're trying to make Mario seem 'older' or more timeless or something like they have to give off the suggestion that he existed during OTHER people's childhoods

in the 90s there was a study done with kids that showed american kids recognized mario more than mickey mouse

this is probably the dumbest thing I've heard in quite some time.

we're talking about a character who stomps on monsters, eats mushrooms, fights turtles and breaks floating brick walls by smashing his head into them. Mario games are surrealistic, lighthearted and not very serious. to say that his design does not lend itself very well to these games is to read too much into superficial attributes.

meh don't mind me I probably just have a deep-seated hatred of polished refined things because of how many promising games never saw the light of day with everybody spergin' out about their custom menu systems

I've noticed that a couple of people I know have started to picked up my "punch a wall/door/phone pole/etc" tendency when they get really angry. Unfortunately, two out of two who tried it recently ended up with fractures in their hands.

What really bothers me is that I just found out this guy I used to be friends with was going around trying to be a big bad ass, and he got his handed to him. Years ago, after he saw one altercation I was in, he asked if I could teach him some stuff. We only had a couple of sessions before he had to move, but apparently he thought his training was complete. He was mistaken.

I'm trying to write a song about it now, but I keep running into riffs from other songs I'm already using with my band, so it has been slow going.

That's dumb as hell but it's not the end of the world. The kids will eventually be taught the truth except for the dumbass redneck kids and they're already ignorant. Especially with TV and the internet they'd be like well we searched wikipedia for atlantic triangular trade and it redirected us to this article about slavery.
