i just bought a brand new ps3 and I own little big planet and resistance 2 for my starter games. i want you guys at gaming world to suggest me what games i should get. please dont list me any sports games i really hate them

favorite genres include fps, action/adventure, and rpgs

I'm so delicious that when there's a chocolate rain, you won't need the umbrella.

Call of Duty or wait for the new one which will come out in November, Little Big Planet can keep you entertained for a long time anyway but Fallout 3 on the PS3 is good too.

oh I forgot about fallout 3 I was going to buy that for the pc but my pc isnt good enough for it. PS3 verson here i come!

Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction, and the pirate game Booty something, are great. R&C is a never miss!
Heavenly Sword for a good hack'n'slash. Viking is another good one, I think. It's a little different than usual hack'n'slashes, but worth it.
annnnnd lessee, nope. I'm too tired to list 'em. Those should keep you busy until Batman Asylum comes out.

InFamous has it's good points, especially if you like GTA style games, but it's a bit limited as you only have electricity based attacks and you can't use cars or guns (you don't really need cars though as you can grind on power lines and train tracks).
The "Pirate game" is probably Age of Booty.
Valkyria Chronicles isn't a bad RPG, but the story can be a little iffy at times (it's loosely based on WWII, but it's not overly subtle when it comes to issues such as racism, and then characters gain super powers from lances and such O_o... It is a Sega game though).
Folklore was OK, though I wish they'd decided on one method of story telling rather than having several.

thanks guys for the suggestions you got so far, PS3 has more good games than i thought. today i will look at metal gear solid and that valkyrie chronicles game suggested. i might buy them both

I got Resistance 2 as well, I'm also borrowing Killzone 2. I don't particularly use my PS3 that much since whenever I go online, it interrupts the internet connection briefly so if anyone is say playing the xbox 360 then they disconnect. Also, when someone tries to connect to something when I am using my ps3, I can't update anything. Its really weird but I don't really care anymore :/. I also think you should get Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, and the upcoming sequel as both are really good games(I know this about Uncharted 2 cause I was in the beta).

I played uncharted at a friends house the gameplay is JUST RIGHT for an adventure/shooter game. i hope among thieves will take the core of the original and expand it

I used to have that problem. Turn off the media server on the PS3 in the options.

I meant the Ratchet and Clank sequel. It was something Booty. Search for Booty maybe.
It's a short R&C, but really fun for being so different (no Clank) and it ties in to the next game... which is either the upcoming R&C or that PSP Clank game.

Uncharted supposedly rocks

That’s right, you have the young gaming with the old(er), white people gaming with black people, men and women, Asian countries gaming with the EU, North Americans gaming with South Americans. Much like world sporting events like the Wolrd Cup, or the Olympics will bring together different nations in friendly competition, (note the recent Asian Cup; Iraq vs. Saudi Arabia, no violence there) we come together. The differences being, we are not divided by our nationalities and we do it 24-7, and on a personal level.

We are a community without borders and without colours, the spirit and diversity of the gaming community is one that should be looked up to, a spirit and diversity other groups should strive toward.

Little Big Planet, Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, InFamous and Valkyria Chronicles have already been listed; I enjoyed all of those games. If you like LONG jrpgs, then Eternal Sonata may be worth checking out (just ignore the story). If you get a chance to test out InFamous and decide you like it, then you'll definitely enjoy Prototype. Any Guitar Hero/Rockband game is awesome to have as a party game. I played both Resistance titles, and found them to be solid titles, but they were short, and probably good for a rental.

Right now I am eagery anticipating the Batman game, Uncharted 2 and Rock Band Beatles.

Check it out! I'm doing NaNoWriMo this year!

it was fun though and was pretty much a indiana jones: THE NEXT GENERATION game

It looks to be expanding it nicely and there will be online play to boot. I tried it in the beta and it wasn't half bad and it was oddly addictive but it wasn't anything you haven't seen in many other shooters and I felt that guns like the grenade launcher needed a bit more of a punch. I did like how they implemented platforming in the multiplayer though, it just feels right here. Overall, the multiplayer plays the same as the singleplayer with the combat(well from uncharted 1 anyway...) only now you are killing other people.

I own this on platinum and it was worth £20 definitely and I am stoked about the sequel because it has claudia black in it

My friend pointed out that one of it's redeeming features is that "you shoot black people... for the whole game!"

I was like. "So you do.... so you do..."
