So I'm guessing we're all around 20 or so in these forums, many older, many younger, but maybe the average is 20. I recently graduated from UAB and am currently applying to medical school. One of the most, if not the most, feared aspects of the grueling application process is taking the MCAT exam, a test that spans 5 hours, covering Gen. Chem 1 and 2, Organic Chem 1 and 2, Physics 1 and 2, and Bio 1 and 2, all in unfamiliar passage-based format. The test also has a Verbal section and 2 times Essays, all of which tests ones CRITICAL THINKING skills.

I've studied for this test for almost 14 months, spent $3000+ in prep. material, went over 20+ books, a 4 month long live class, tons of online workshops, quizzes, and a million passages, and about 35 practice tests.... I took it, and got a 27/45, in the 60th percentile. It crushed me, and I felt like giving up. But then I had to summon up the strength to retake the test, and after 3 months of 6+ hours a day of studying, I took it, and today, I got my score back... I made a 33, in the 90th percentile.

The tests curve is weird, in that, getting a 30/45 is like getting 80% of the test correct, but it'll still throw you in the 75% percentile or something. It becomes increasingly difficult to score over 30.

Looking back, this has been my greatest accomplishment (yes, even greater than making my game! JK  :woop:), but of course getting into medical school will overthrow this feat. I can't express how relieved I am about this, the test consumes you... and it has for the past year and more (its the reason why my game's been deadlocked in development in case anyone was wondering). Whenever anyone asked me to hang out, or I wanted to do ANYTHING, I had to have a mini-conversation with myself, on whether its smart to spend time doing this, when I should be studying more. I'm finally free from its chains, and it rocks epicly.

Just so this doesn't turn into a rant, what is something you guys have done that you're most proud of? Your GREATEST accomplishment in the short life we've had so far!

My greatest accomplishment in life is to not give a damn what other people have to say against me, and that I should respond to negative people in a sarcastic/smartass manner to piss them off even more. I haven't reached my peak yet, though. Still working to get there.

In all honesty, I haven't done much, but suppose gradutating from basic training or more realistically, graduating from my tech school and finally actually doing my job in the air force.

it took me over a year of training to get here, and now I'm actually impacting something over here.

At this point I'd say I'm working towards the thing that I will be most proud of in life, maybe when I get some work printed in a big magazine or when I graduate or get into post-grad journalism school or whatever . I think in general though, the thing I will be most proud of is whether I have done something truly selfless and brought joy to someone else. It sounds real cheesy but I've been thinking for ages that I would really like to adopt a kid when I'm older. I like that saying that life is defined by whether you have experienced joy for yourself and whether you have brought joy to someone else.

I would have to say that my biggest accomplishment thus far has to be giving birth to my baby boy and raising him on my own....

my biggest accomplishment in life was realizing and utterly accepting the fact that i'm lazy and living an unhealthy life but despite that there must be something i can accomplish.

I can't wait for this.  I've been something of an underachiever since high school, and now I finally have something to set my sights on.  Navy's nuclear program is going to be heinous, but I feel very motivated to do it.  If I can tough through those 2 years, I think I'll be hard-pressed to top that.  What is your MOS?

Woohoo!! Go Rajhi!!!

Um... anyway, my greatest accomplishment? This is not really an accomplishment, but more a development of a general mindset for self-betterment. I try to learn anything useful (information, philosophy, skills, etc...) from anywhere I can, whether it's other people or myself. Like, over the last month, I've talked with one of my friends here a lot, and almost everday we got into some discussion about our society, culture, global issues and what-not. I also try to stay in shape running (planning on doing a marathon next Jan), guitar, etc... to see what my potential really is.

I climbed a mountain last year. Granted Snowdon isn't exactly a big mountain by any stretch it's still a mountain which I have reached the top of. I don't know if it's the BEST THING about my life but it's probably the best thing I can narrow down to a single event.
