Just wondering whether any of the many admins/mods etc that we've had in the past have ever put down that they worked for Gamingw on their CV when applying for a job or something

What's a CV?
Admiral Robert E Lee: From an alternate reality in which the United States is an archipelago and the Civil War is fought at sea.

This could backfire if your employer is not old and technophobey, instead being web savvy. I mean that could be bad considering the immense shite we get posted on this board.

No-one says resume here in Britain. Literally everyone says CV.

Also no, there is no mention of GW on mine though a friend of mine put the fact he was an admin some forum on his University application.

okay whatever.

It's one thing to put it on your resume if you are like the website creator or something.  I'm sure Bart could put it on his, or even like Drule or Rowain who were/are heads of the site at one point could put it on theirs (maybe!).  But like a mod or something, fehhh I could become a mod of any random site after a week or something so its not that special of a feat I guess, and nobody cares.

i have every page of every gw topic circa 2006 printed out in a binder that i distribute to prospective employers in lieu of an actual resume.

A crapload of people 'cos the accurate word is Curriculum Vitae but most people can't pronounce or spell it thus CV.

This can be a good idea depending on what kind of job you are looking for, what kind of community you are part of and what your role there has been. If you are applying for a job flipping burgers and your role has been VIP MEMBER on CobraKatana99's Street Fighter Dojo then maybe it is not such a good idea, but if you are running a successful community of some type and are applying for a web-related job then it could be a good way to convey your management and organizational skills as well as your web, internet and community know-how.

I think Bart put GW on his CV, and I recall a few people I know IRL having done similar things as well.

It is relevant I guess.

I think the first question you should ask yourself is "What is my username?"

Bart - OK
Jeff - OK
Dada - OK

Perhaps I should take some latin lessons so I don't need to use abbreviations any more.

first, YOU FOOL, CV is the proper term. Resume is like USA saying soccer. FOOLS.

Second, god no, don't put GW on your CV for christ sake.
unless you're a technical administrator.
