what do you mean over the ear?  like full sized headphones or like the smaller kind?  are you looking for studio monitor sorts of things or stuff purely for colored listening?   do you need like closed back or noise cancellation?  please provide more information or you are going to get a permenant ban

by full sized i mean that they go all the way around my ear, enclosing said ear. like a little amphitheater for my ear. i will be using these for listening to assorted music of all sorts, from rap to electronic. thats about it nothing too special. noise canceling is always nice but its not really necessary

is that enough for you chekhov.... what more do you want

yeah definitely get noise cancelling if possible because then you don't have to blow out your ears if you listen to music/anything in a place where there is other noise going on.  also closed back headphones will sound better but you won't find any in your price range

Grado SR60i or SR80i are really great full sized headphones for around that price(check ebay and shit). I got a pair of SR80i's for 50 bucks used and they're excellent headphones. They're open though so people around you are gonna hear what you're listening to.

for a cheap closed-style headphone you should check out these, my buddy has a pair and they sound great for their price.(they look dope too)

noise canceling is awful if you care about sound quality, don't fall for it.

these are on sale and look/sound dope too. you should probably get these because they're really friggin' good headphones for this price
(if you're listening out of an amp)

those last ones have the 1/4" jack: would using those 1/4 to 3.5mm converters affect sound quality at all? Are there any converters that are specifically good for headphones like that (ie, are not long and/or flimsy?)?
yes coulombs are "germaine", did you learn that word at talk like a dick school?
