Do you like tennis?

Do you play it?
Do you follow Tennis throughout the year?
What about the Grand Slams? Follow them?

How much do you know about Roger Federer? He might as well become the GOAT (greatest of all time).
and Rafael Nadal? Who is almost unbeatable on clay.

The last Grand Slam, the US Open, finished last week.
The winner: Juan Martin Del Potro, a 20 year old argentine who defeated Nadal at the semi finals and Federer at the finals.

Tennis is BY FAR my favourite sport (I follow tennis, football, basquet and rugby).
I love to play it and I follow the ATP circuit.

tennis is a fuckin great sport. i've been playing for about five years, played on my high school varsity team for four. i held the number three position for two years, and moved up to the number two spot for my sophomore and senior year. captain for two of those years as well. last season i went 13-1, all conference, did jack shit in play offs though.

i also taught tennis for like 2 years to teens.

who the fuck knew MURRAY is doing as well as he has. never thought he had the head to be a top five player. if he decides to mature he could be really special to watch.

these are some things i have to say about tennis.

Dude, Murray is getting massive hype at UK. Hoping he's the next Tilden and win Wimbledon.
He didn't reach a final at a slam this year, and Del Potro made it instead, winning the USO.

Some say Murray vs Delpo is the next rivalry.

Although there's still Djoker in between those two.

I mean, although Murray has a favourable h2h against Delpo, all their matches has been close and I'm just convinced Delpo has the game and what it takes to defeat Murray. Thing is Delpo is right now the quickest growing talent this year, while something similar could be said about Murray last year. Murray seems to have found a ceiling to his game, if he wants to improve he will have to be more aggressive and not just be a pusher.
Delpo, on the other hand, hasn't reached his ceiling and has a lot of room to improve. One of the greatest things about this guy is that he is COACHABLE (unlike Safin, a headcase. A lot of people are saying Delpo is Safin + Mental Strength).
By that I mean he really wants to keep learning and growing. When he won the USO he said: "I have 2 dreams, one I did it, which was winning this grand slam, the other one is much difficult, it's to be like you, Roger" something like that.
I think that says much about his hunger for glory and his admiration and humbleness. So imagine if he really keeps up honing his talent. He might as well become the future of tennis after the Fedal domination.

And then there is Novak Djokovic. He has a very complete game, except some lags when going up the net. He won a Slam in the middle of the Federer-Nadal domination but ever since hasn't reached another slam final.
My explanation: He lost a bit of focus on the game to become more of an entretainer. He seems like a nice guy sure, but sometimes when he loses a match it seems like he's happy of losing. Of course he isn't but it doesn't seem to upset him so much as it might to other of the top ranked players. He seems to think much more for the crowd.
This is a very dangerous guy, if he proposes it, he has a deadly game. But he isn't the mentally strongest of the three. That's Delpo, and that's how he won the last slam: mentally
