With the release only two weeks away and the beta being public with almost no one checking the netplay forum without this here... Uncharted 2 topic time.

Uncharted 2 is pretty much the only game I have really wanted to get for the whole year and being a fan of the first game in the series, I have been very excited to get my hands on Uncharted 2. I'm sure almost everyone already knows about it by now since it's one of the most hyped games of the current generation (which is kinda funny considering how overlooked Uncharted was) and gladly it seems like it's not going to disappoint with the multiplayer beta being a lot of fun and the game getting a ton of favorable reviews, having an average score of 9.7 on metacritic.

For those who have played the first game, what we know about the second one is that the core gameplay is pretty much the same but some things have been added and tweaked. I haven't played the single player campaign yet obviously but at least all the reviews say that the levels are designed so that there's a bigger focus on traversal shooting instead of simply taking cover in one place and shooting down all the enemies. The melee is also improved and it's actually useful this time around, and Naughty Dog have added some sneaking elements to the game so that you can take down enemies quietly without noticing others. At least the gameplay has been an absolute blast in the multiplayer campaign and if the single player is anything like in the first game, I'm sure it's going to be good. Well, it's probably better to just read a review or two instead of me trying to explain it especially since I have only played the multiplayer beta for one day.

I got lazy so can't be bothered to type more. Anyone else going to get the game? And hopefully you'll play it online with us, it's seriously a lot of fun.

Of course I am getting this game. It's such a day one purchase and the only other games that seem that way for me are Mafia II and Modern Warfare 2.

The first was exceptional, this has got a really good review off kotaku today so I am thinking I am going to be £40 short when the time comes.

I am pretty damn excited. Whenever I see an advert on TV I get all happy and excited which doesn't happen for many things these days.

Can't wait. I am "stoked" as the yanks say.

You know what you really need? Like, really, really need, and you don't even know it? One of our kidneys.

That's what we're putting on the table on the off chance that you're the winner of Naughty Dog's latest contest -- the prize for which is one of the limited, sexy, leather-bound, dagger-infested copies of Uncharted 2 Fortune Hunter Edition. All you have to do to be eligible is play in the Uncharted 2 Multiplayer Beta this weekend, and you'll automatically be entered. They're handing out 10 copies of the special edition every day until the game's released, meaning our chances of receiving one are slim.

Hence, we offer one of our kidneys as an exchange to any potential winner under the sound of our voice. They're fresh, they regulate the balance of our electrolytes superbly, and, best of all, they're ours! Don't you want to put a bit of Joystiq inside you?

Got the game this morning and just beat it, took about 10-11 hours. It definitely felt longer and larger than the first Uncharted.

I'm not kidding when I say it has to be the best single game experience I have had. You just have to play it, what an incredible game. Visuals, gameplay, voice acting, music, everything was so polished down to the last detail. I really liked the level design, a lot of variety in levels and fighting felt way more varied than in the first game thanks to the level design and stealth moves, which is probably my favorite addition in Uncharted 2. There were many parts where you could use stealth to kill almost all the enemies and it's great fun. The game had so many incredible parts and it was just so well paced with not a single dull moment that I really have to applaud Naughty Dog for creating such a fantastic game. It's a bit premature to say this but right now I definitely think this is my favorite game in years and one of the best games I have played, and I can't see any other game topping it this year. Everyone who owns a PS3 must get Uncharted 2.

The game is gr8 but I need to get a new controller since my dualshock R2 button got destroyed by playing Armored Core Nexus and this year my original PS3 controller dual analog sticks are sometimes not resetting back to place/sticking. making the game a bitch to play.

Edit when you get to the pool in the hotel take a dive in the pool LOL Best trophy ever.

The first uncharted was good but number 2 is better also it takes it's self less serious and cracks a few jokes along the way.

good god you're like the posting equivalent of ben lyons.

That’s right, you have the young gaming with the old(er), white people gaming with black people, men and women, Asian countries gaming with the EU, North Americans gaming with South Americans. Much like world sporting events like the Wolrd Cup, or the Olympics will bring together different nations in friendly competition, (note the recent Asian Cup; Iraq vs. Saudi Arabia, no violence there) we come together. The differences being, we are not divided by our nationalities and we do it 24-7, and on a personal level.

We are a community without borders and without colours, the spirit and diversity of the gaming community is one that should be looked up to, a spirit and diversity other groups should strive toward.

Is this a bad thing? If it makes you feel better I don't have a pink ball to wave in front of your face.

All i'm trying to say is Uncharted 1 had more of a serious vibe and Uncharted 2 had more humor.

Bump.

If you own a PS3 and you do not purchase this game, you are making a big mistake. I'm pretty sure this is going to be remembered as the best game of this console generation. It's currently ranked as the 8th best game ever. Buy it, idiots!

I bought this game for the multiplayer, the main story is a lil somethin on the side. The story is done in very much movie fashion (games are movies these days) but you control drake so it's cool.

We should make a GW clan and jones other squads.

Definitely a must buy.  It's honestly like playing a movie, but the key part is that you're still playing.  The recent trend in games is to give the illusion the player is doing something cool, but take over right before you get to do it and show a long cutscene of awesome stuff.  In this game 90% of the time, you're playing through exciting cutscenes.

Lots of times I was so involved in what was going on, I didn't realized I was supposed to be playing and died.  Great game, great acting, great writing.

Tip your servers 15%, please.
