Question Photoshop 8-bit makeover (Read 488 times)

So here's a question.  I have a nice copy of photoshop and was wondering if it was possible to use it to give pictures and photographs some kind of makeover so they look vaguely 8-bit-ish?   Obviously, it doesn't have to be an exact look, but for those of you who had the program (and I'm not really versed in its advanced features), how would you go about achieving that kind of result?

pixelate + saturate. it is the key to success.

in fact if you can find a palette for a classic NES game you could recolour it to look more 'authentic'
