It really is in bad taste to do that to someone's account after they pass... not surprised someone felt the need to do it but it is greatly distasteful and disrespectful.

I lack the ability and the talent to record any of the music Steel enjoyed, but I believe that the Troubadours idea is beautiful. I wouldn't mind having a peak at the archives, too.

The idea of us taking pictures of ourselves holding up signs of R.I.P. Steel strikes me as one of those things that could be a really neat idea. It would give a lot of people an idea of just how many lives he truly touched.

I'd be happy to help in any way possible with the Troubadours idea - I think if all of us got together and did a tribute to him it could be a really nice thing.

I know I haven't been here in a while but Steel was always the coolest dude and seeing this news is just horrible. I'm not rolling in dough or anything at the moment but if the family needs any help with funeral bills I'll put in whatever I can.

whoever hacked the account srsly needs a hobby, fucking hell

Perhaps just a big collaboration celebrating his life (from the people who know him better), generally talking about the loss of good people and so on. I don't think I'd be the right person to helm it as I'm a bit unreliable at the moment, but I'd definitely love to contribute.

Wow, where have i been, i knew steel had cancer but i thought he beat it?
i know what its like to loose an internet friend, i used to play planetside, met some one and became close, did a lot together, then i log on one day and a outfit mate said that he had keeled over from a heart attack, i stopped playing after that, game just wasn't the same.
any way, why not have a webpage apart of the main site dedicated as a memorial for GW's who died? i mean there are others aren't there? i think it would be nice to have something like this as apart of GW history, a part of GW dedicated for remembrance, or something like that.

The only other I can think of was that one dude (Forgot his name) where his friend came on and said he died from a BDSM accident or something along those lines.

I remember when steel said he did not find Indian women attractive.

(I think that was him.)

Good times.

Not sure if its ok to post this here, or if anyone did but I found this obituary by his cousin?

Quote
My only little brother(cousin) left me forever on the night of 4th November 2009.He had cancer for the past one year, he tried fighting it and for a moment there we were sure he would win, however the almighty had other plans for this exceptionally intelligent young man. i have tried to drown the sorrow in jokes, my job and whiskey but something feels wrong. Amark or "luchi" as i liked to call him was a prolific reader and an exceptional writer , he had his own quirky way of looking at things. He was also the person who introduced me to the internet and hence made "bengalraider" possible .Though I never got to know him too well as he was born and brought up in the united states he was/is still close to my heart . After his death i have discovered some of the articles he wrote and would like to share them with all of you, i am sure he would have loved to know that his writing had crossed the globe.I am also attaching a link to his online obituary please send some words of support to his family.

i know it sounds wrong to say this, but i couldn't stop laughing when i was reading his obiturary, why? i have a real close friend called gary, i imaged him doing all those things in the obituary and it just made me laugh! still, it was a good read.

Yeah, I loved San Andreas, but it was just such a black game. :x Like. Eh, I dunno, it was all so frickin' black, and I enjoyed the atmosphere of Vice City more.
