i can't remember. i only have weird, fuzzy, warm memories of all these games. i would never exhange these memories to anything

EXCEPT FOR TONS OF THINGS but still they rule. it's the same reason both i and guana have perversions to chiptune-music, game-memories rules.

I dunno, Pong? Maybe something on the vextrex?
Can you people seriously remember the first time you played a videogame??

I just remember playing games on my dad's old computer, for which he had Bubbleghost and this Mickey Mouse game where you had to plan a party, and a Duck Tales adventure game. Which of those I played first, I couldn't tell you, but I assume it was Bubbleghost.

also I'm surprised at all the people born in 87 and 88 saying they played ATARI games, you know the NES would've been out for like 5 years by the time you were old enough to hold a controller, were you playing your parents ATARI or what?

that's most likely what happened

their households already had ATARIs and i guess if you look at how some households are now

with vidcon-hungry kids

"waah mom buy me a 360" "you already have an xbox isnt that enough"

rephrase with

"waah mom buy me a nes" "you already have an atari isnt that enough"

same shit different day

(forgive me)

We got our ATARI in 1994. The SNES was out then. It's amazing because I used to play on that ATARI on a regular basis until it broke in about 1997. We replaced it with a Playstation. The step up was absolutely mind-blowing.

The first game I remember playing is Super Mario Bros. 3. I'm sure I was playing games before that, though!

Catch me if you can!  Be one of the first three people to quote me in this topic! You could win $30 in indie games!

I think it was one of my birthdays I got the NES with that duckhunt/mario1 double game, like I said. I forget what birthday, but I do recall at least that we were hella poor, so NES was my first game. Played ATARI at my friend's house a couple years later because he was even more poor and that was the best his mom could afford at the time. Mario 1 was cool and all, but me and my sister didn't really get into playing games INSIDE until like Mario 3 and then we got Sega. But, really, most of my childhood was spent up a tree playing pretend and shit.

edit: I think it was my tenth birthday???? this is going to bug me.

Power Rangers is the first one I remember beating.

But I think I played Super Mario Brothers first.

My brother was a big fanatic of video games every since the NES came out in 1985. He first introduced me to video games when I was only a few months old(but at that time I only knew how to chew on the controller.) When I became vivid enough of a thinker to realize what I was doing, I am pretty sure I started off with Super Mario Brothers and Duck Hunt...Also some of the more famed Nintendo series of games on the SNES were a large part of what I played as well.
I remember playing Final Fantasy VI because the visuals, music and gameplay looked appealing to me but at that age it was a little too deep for me to have any idea on what was going on.

Definitely Super Mario Bros. / Duck Hunt. Back then we didn't have a Toaster NES, but we had a NES clone with like dozens of games built in. It was pretty awesome.

As for my first PC game, that must've been Jazz Jackrabbit.

I'm not entirely sure, but it was probably either Elevator.com or Dangerous Dave.

I played the monochrome CGA versions of both (couldn't find screenshots of that) so these actually look a lot newer than the way I remember them.

You think you got it tough, my dad always used to pause the game while playing Super Mario Bros, right when I was jumping over a gap, to kill me and make me go game over.

You think you got it tough, when I was 8 my dad threw my supernintendo off our 15 story balcony because my school grades were horrible.
I still loved my snes too much.
