You can't say you didn't know as soon as you threatened to report people for linking this shit I would proceed to do this at my earliest possible convenience. These people are putting themselves out there to begin with, so why should this be any different than any other public shit people laugh at all the fucking time?

i guess you could say they're "fair game" heh

:welp: I guess because these are basically just regular lonely people?? UGH look at the misspellings in this 24-year-old single mother's profile on an internet dating site HOW ABOUT YOU LEARN TO TYPE CUNT. Looking for a man? maybe you should drop the cheetos fatty. Some bitch wrote GOOD TIMES under the designated 'interests' section. heh, think maybe you could be a little less specific there?? It's honestly kind of repulsive anyway to sit around scoffing at people on the internet even if they are anime nerds or whatever the fuck but these people just seem like ordinary folks. txtspeak ugh but really who cares

EDIT: actually this was a pretty bad post too because sneering self-righteousness is probably a big part of that whole dumb mentality that seems to spring naturally to internet forums! sorry! sorry guys! but it just kind of grosses me out to see people point and laugh like this at others who haven't done anything actually bad at all (like if it was profiles advocating $24,0000 PER MONTH EXEC SEEKS HARDBODY. NO FATTIES it'd be a lot more understandable but mocking single mothers looking for a relationship seems a pretty low blow). I dunno there just seems to be a whole thing where people are willing to trade off decency/intellectual honesty for LULZ XD and it should probably be acknowledged.

I have a old schoolmate who met his wife playing scrabble on facebook. She's a nice lade, quite pretty too. So you can meet the right person for you online, but I doubt you'll have better luck than IRL. Web datings just more convienient.

it was a reference to ASE who (I am pretty sure) sort of did this same thing a while ago but then had a change of heart. even if that wasn't ase I clearly recall him CHANGING HIS WAYS back in american magic. dom was like the only guy who still thought linking people to this sort of shit was funny as hell and he used pretty much the same rationalization as bled. "they're fair game!!"

it is pretty awful but it seems like most other dudes here are at least decent enough to realize how shitty it is so w/e

Side-note: Profession: Hello! sounds like a band name.

Internet's pretty cool for this sort of thing. Doesn't always work though :fogetbackflip: :fogetbackflip: :fogetbackflip: and that often ends up when it's the funniest :fogetlaugh:

i think internet dating can be difficult but worth it. my small group leader at church, Noel, met her husband on World of Warcraft. she moved from California to Michigan to settle down with him. she always tells people that she highly advises against internet dating because it can cause so much heartbreak. the thing is... it's cool to meet people with similar nerdy interests while playing WoW, but it doesn't mean that all of your interests are the same. Noel is a very strong Christian and her husband is a very liberal atheist. they love each other and everything, and they get to play WoW and Scrabble and other nerdy games together, but Noel really cares about religion and beliefs. she suffers a lot of pain because she knows that her husband doesn't feel the love of God that she's so passionate about. it's really tough to hear her talk about it, because i can tell she is struggling so much--she loves her husband and she doesn't force him to care about religion, but she wishes he was more interested in it, if only because he knows she cares so much. Noel advised me against dating my current boyfriend, who is also a "very liberal atheist" kinda guy. i couldn't stop myself from falling in love... but now i understand what Noel means when she talks about this stuff. it's tough.
anyways, all i'm saying is that online dating can be really cool, but it's important for people to meet partners with similar priorities. meeting people in church may be better for some that meeting in WoW. it depends on your priorities-- do you want someone who has geeky interests like you, or do you care more about having similar personal beliefs? it's a difficult balance, i guess.
semper games.

That’s right, you have the young gaming with the old(er), white people gaming with black people, men and women, Asian countries gaming with the EU, North Americans gaming with South Americans. Much like world sporting events like the Wolrd Cup, or the Olympics will bring together different nations in friendly competition, (note the recent Asian Cup; Iraq vs. Saudi Arabia, no violence there) we come together. The differences being, we are not divided by our nationalities and we do it 24-7, and on a personal level.

We are a community without borders and without colours, the spirit and diversity of the gaming community is one that should be looked up to, a spirit and diversity other groups should strive toward.

I think there shouldn't be such a taboo concerning people who meet their matches while playing online games.  I mean, if you have a decent conversation with someone while grinding kobolds only to find out she's a 35-year-old married lady with 2 kids and you STILL fly to Nevada to bonk her then yes, that's an issue.  Otherwise I think it would be kinda cool to hook up with a cool single chick from an online game - all it really means is you're off to a good start by having something in common you both enjoy.

As a sidenote, another friend of mine actually did fly to Nevada and get all sweaty with a married chick - I wasn't just being theoretical.  People are fucking weird.

I love that you can not even read the entire post and still understand things in context, whereas someone else can read the entire thing and ultimately determine that I'm sexist.

If you're single minded and obsessed with something then it's better to meet people who think like you so you don't have to go through all the burden that is being curious and learning new things

So he's like 99% of GW.

Anyways, like Bled, I don't understand why there is so much of a taboo about meeting someone on an online game. It's not like all of the WoW userbase is made of fat, lonely and psychotic people. There's a lot of them but still.
