I was a valet for about a year and a half, in a really really rich part of town, so I've driven a lot of really nice cars. I like this Challenger a lot. It's really powerful, fun to drive. Not really my kind of car(I have a thing against Dodge), though. It's a really nice car, no doubt about it. One of the guys that came in and wanted me to park his Challenger had a SKULL FOR THE SHIFTER. AND THE EYES GLOWED BLUE. AND HE WAS BLARING SYSTEM OF A DOWN. WITH BLUE TINTED WINDOWS, AND DECALS ON THE BACK OF THE CAR. I think he had everything on the checklist (douchebag checklist).

Get a Nissan.

jojoface gave the best advice but it was a troll

I know I shouldn't get it btw but I honestly want a nice car I kind of want one that says FUCKIN VROOM because all the lux cars look boring to me. I like american cars too, jap cars are too quiet and dainty for me. I want something I can strap to a fullsize truck and drag that motherfucker a hundred feet if I was in a completely destructive mood.

well then if that's what you're going for then do it, but you should check the resale value like bonehead said. i had to sell my car and i lost on the resale.... which is pretty bad because i had already gotten it super cheap from ebay. and i think it was a lemon....

So I recently just about paid off my car payments for my 2008 ford focus (I only owe about 900$ on it) and I've since been looking to put my money to something.

if you only owe $900 then what money are you looking at putting somewhere?

you pay it in monthly installments I believe, so he could still have a lot of money saved up. Then the car is his to sell to put towards his new car. That's how I am seeing it

Dodge Challenger - Projected Five-Year Depreciation
$5,305   $2,164   $1,847   $2,056   $2,012
Grand Total - $13,384

This rule applies to just about any new luxury/sports vehicle.  There's not really any feasible scenario in which you can expect to receive as much as you initially invested, and the longer you wait to resell it the more you gonna lose.

Also I believe the same unspoken rule about people who drive Mustangs applies to the Challenger - they are generally douchebags.

I know it seems sexy and it's a great idea if you're more interested in wasting money on a sweet vehicle that you won't really get to enjoy, but you shouldn't try to convince yourself that this is fiscally responsible in any sense of the word.

volkswagon golf mks 2 and 3 are going to be the next classic cars

also if you want to go with a classic design don't look any further than the ferrari daytona. they made an american car without any of the terrible things american cars are known for

In fact, the more I think about this the dumber it seems to me.  You never really specified how long you're out on the rig or whatever, but does it really make sense to pay $30k+ for something you're only going to drive 'hardly ever'?  The only sensible reason you have for buying this thing is your credit, and it seems like there are much more logical investments to consider before signing up to pay too much money for something you don't really need that won't retain even a shadow of its current market value regardless of how well you maintain it.

A better (and probably much cheaper) way to build your credit would be to take out small loans with decent interest rates that you know you can pay back on a schedule.  I would almost suggest credit cards, but the interest is almost uniformly 25% or higher and so far (not trying to be a dick here) you're not really exhibiting very good judgment with this kinda shit.

Actually wasn't a troll. The guy apparently OWNED a shop where he sold Decals and "Jewelry" for Cars, so he was representing his company by making his car incredibly douchey.

If you're gonna burn over 30k, the Challenger isn't a terrible way to go. It's REALLY nice. It's just not my style of car.

Anything from Infiniti is a really good bet. Their newer stuff is top notch. Really classy. But it won't give you that "HEMI" feel.

(also, what is up with dodge? dodge CHALLENGER dodge MAGNUM dodge CHARGER dodge VIPER dodge CALIBER dodge AVENGER dodge NITRO. they try way too hard with the names of their cars.)

save your money. You have a car already, would getting a new one add to your life in any substantial way?

Get yourself completely out of debt and then build your savings and invest wisely.

i don't know if it's the same way in america but here what's way more important for a home loan isn't a good credit rating it's savings history. w/e though if you can buy a car brand new and pay it off in a year you're doing pretty darn well, you should still be able to get some money back out of it if you wanted to sell or trade in (you will lose a lot of money, both through depreciation of the car and interest on the loan (i don't know how hire purchase works)).
