This rule applies to just about any new luxury/sports vehicle. There's not really any feasible scenario in which you can expect to receive as much as you initially invested, and the longer you wait to resell it the more you gonna lose.
Also I believe the same unspoken rule about people who drive Mustangs applies to the Challenger - they are generally douchebags.
I know it seems sexy and it's a great idea if you're more interested in wasting money on a sweet vehicle that you won't really get to enjoy, but you shouldn't try to convince yourself that this is fiscally responsible in any sense of the word.
