so i reinstalled the game and it seemed like you held down the fire button and he'd automatically fire. now he doesn't!!! have i just remembered wrong or has something stupid happened? the game is old and full of bugs but i don't want to play through having to click the crowbar each time to swing it.

any insight?

The way I remember deus ex, that was the normal way things worked

Play Raimond Ex (if you haven't already)

maybe it's a ubiquitous bug because i remember compared the swinging speed of the baton to the crowbar in the first little segment by holding down fire! maybe i'm inventing memories who knows

i don't remember it being like that at all! try the shifter mod if it's a problem, it fixes a lot of things.

What is black JC? I don't remember being able to choose your skin color at the beginning of the game. Is this a mod or am I remembering incorrectly? Or is it a feature from the future?????

You can choose the skin color before the game starts, there are two arrows under the portrait maybe you didn't see them?

i played as the ginger model first time through and felt like a dick. ginger slicked back hair, pale skin, sunglasses and a trenchcoat. i also maxed out his swimming because i had no idea how useless it would be for the rest of the game, but it was necessary to find some secret maybe

i'm going to try and be more wasteful this play through!

also does anyone have a nocd crack or something? i'm playing from an image, but the image is on a CD so it's just as irritating

i don't know how to use that very well but it looks like all they have is a playstation specific fix. also it just seems a fricken waste of space having essentially two copies of the game on the hd to pass a CD check
