doesn't anyone here keep up with music anymore? I wanted to hear what was worth listening to from the mostly garbage genres

well what I mean is I don't really feel like picking up any new indie rock or w/e album unless I've got a pretty good reason to believe it's worth listening to. thanks tho, I'll get the new elliott smith. I didn't even realize he was making music anymore

Sorry what can I say i have autism

I know Zero good music that came out in 2009. I don't follow the Music E-zines or Web-Blogs anymore! When was the last time I bought KERRANG! ? or Q Magazine? Who flipping knows. I don't follow music at all. I just go through internet archives like rateyourmusic, download the stuff that looks like it is what I want to hear and I keep whatever I like on my laptop for a while. I want to get more engaged, but it is hard to care about alot of music. some of it I really like but most of it is just nice sounds or crappy sounds. I don't want to be like this. I want to get excited about music again. The only thing that would make me get pumped up would be a new John Frusciante album and I'll even admit that he's been boring for several years now!

also earl is my little brother: it's hard to get excited of a genre or 'wave' that's sole, major change is merely esthetical. like i literally haven't heard anything from hipster/modern alt music that had anything new to bring to the expression. everybody just deciced to just throw whatever genre to dance pop with a pretty exact mix/production and tone in mind.

maybe you dorks are shocked of this but i can really see a lot of common things between bands like yeah yeah yeah's, arcade fire, arctic monkeys and death cab in this sense. basically you got lot of WACKY things going on with sounds and whatnot while it's pretty much eg. the Pixies with modern (did i already so danceable? or childhish?) sounds. THE MODERN BRITROCK TREND i suppose.
