i would say that it is, but i know someone who doesn't and i'm just curious what your follow-up would be to "it's not capitalist!"

i don't wanna do this here but since this topic is already a giant fucking mess:

just think about the general relationship people have with production over there. While the state does own huge sections of the economy, there are still several massive private companies that operate in the same way that companies anywhere else in the world do.  The market is the primary mechanism for distributing most goods and services to the people there and while it may not be some kind of idealistic "free market" i think you'll find that such a thing doesn't exist anywhere.

I think the thing is. It is probably normal to enjoy this sort of thing because let's face it we're all guys and we are that way inclined. However it's also normal to feel like a complete loser afterwards because of how degrading it is (to the women and to the punters) so I guess that this conversation is displaying both sides of it. I guess if you can cut out the enjoyment initially you're a, I wouldn't say better person because I don't measure people in terms of GOODNESS OR WHATEVER, but maybe there's something different about you. Just kind of surprised that some people are REALLY REPULSED that someone could enjoy breasts and naked women on display when that is kind of normal, maybe?

I am not in favour of strip clubs or anything because I find it all pretty saddening and disgusting for everyone involved but I can see the way people think about these things, I hope.

i think you'll find that most women working there aren't the caricature of an unhappy disempowered woman, but rather fairly happy with the fact that they're able to earn so much money for so little work. It's just the daily grind(LOL) for them and there's nothing sad or disgusting about it. Granted the prominence of the establishments and the seediness of the sex industry as a whole says a lot about gender relations in society, i don't think the people who go there are should feel ashamed about anything outside of the fact that they're being duped and it's corny/boring as fuck.

saying you LOVE STRIPCLUBS is sorta like saying you love to go to those monstertruck destruction derbies or saying "nickleback is fuckin' awesome"
