So the commercial for the Oscars said, "You've never seen Oscar like this before."  is there anything groundbreaking going on or is it the same old stuff, I'm not going to watch it to find out

maybe it was in HD or something. nothing special happened, there was no special entertainment unless you count ben stiller dressed as a na'vi. apparently sacha cohen was going to be there too as a female na'vi and it probably was going to be more making fun of the stupid blue aliens but then cohen got uninvited because they thought cameron might get offended.

I LIKE-A YOU

I LIKE-A SEX

That’s right, you have the young gaming with the old(er), white people gaming with black people, men and women, Asian countries gaming with the EU, North Americans gaming with South Americans. Much like world sporting events like the Wolrd Cup, or the Olympics will bring together different nations in friendly competition, (note the recent Asian Cup; Iraq vs. Saudi Arabia, no violence there) we come together. The differences being, we are not divided by our nationalities and we do it 24-7, and on a personal level.

We are a community without borders and without colours, the spirit and diversity of the gaming community is one that should be looked up to, a spirit and diversity other groups should strive toward.

They didn't even have to alter Ben Stiller's nose for that costume.

i dont even remember the last time i saw an award show. What happens during the oscars other than handing out the actual things themselves? Is there any 'entertainment' blocs of the show to break up the awards or something?

if you count interpretive dancing to film scores as being in the entertainment category, then yes.

i have to admit it was pretty amazing when stiller was reading the makeup winner and his little na'vi tail went flying, prompting him to drag out the fishing pole that it was attached to. worst possible moment for that to happen.

what an awful thing to sit and watch.

How do you do it? When I see something like that I immediately turn off the TV, sometimes even commercials will do this to me. The whole idea of Ben stiller dressed like an avatar people puts me off of seeing a movie for a long time like a peta video of an industrial farm makes people question eating meat

because i am an awful human being.

seriously, though, ben stiller dressed as a cat person was one of the more odd moments of the night! i don't know if i'm idk DESENSITIZED to this sort of stupid bullshit (i like to think not, since i immediately started fast-forwarding when dudes started busting a move to the hurt locker score) but he was being pretty creepy on national television, plus he kind of looked like he was genuinely freaking james cameron out. he just looked really awkward in a different way from everyone else in the show and that awkwardness was only compounded when he completely fucked up the awarding, something clearly not planned. that and he seemed to be making fun of it.

it was not bad, especially when every painful joke the charlatan hosts were telling was specifically engineered so as to suck any remaining humor out of this circle-jerk
