(I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask, if it isn't, I'm sorry.)

I have a question regarding the front row/back row feature in RPG maker 2003. Personally, I think the description of the built-in help file is rather vague. What I need to know is what it affects and what it doesn't affect. Could anyone please explain me the actual mechanics? For instance, is there any difference between melee and long-range weapons?

Thanks in advance,

It should be as simple as "Front Row: Do more damage, but take more damage" "Back Row: Do less damage, but take less damage." From what I've seen, it isn't actually that great of a difference while testing the melee attacks, and magic attacks do the same damage in either row.
