the flash sideways was clearly the afterlife/ghostville but I'm not so sure about the island being purgatory. are they saying purgatory is the most important time of your life??
but if you are supposed to believe the island was purgatory that feels like a cheap escape. a lot of things don't ADD UP. they expanded too far, included too many characters and side stories outside the oceanic flight people. they also left a lot of loose ends, and neglected a lot of things they promised the viewers they'd tie up eg michael's kid and his POWERS and the lying woman
it does make the role of the man in black and the apparitions of christian shepherd and locke much better in terms of his relationship with Jack
the explanation of Jacob and his brother was pretty stupid
to sum up the series, they just stalled way too much and tried too many stupid things. it could have been a pretty ok series if they had kept on track. if the island is pug a tory just think of all the stupid superfluous side stories they led us through. moving the island, leaving the island and coming back, the temple people, the h bomb, the scientists blearfugh most of the series was just a useless diversion. they either had no idea what they were doing with most of these stories or how they'd fit in to the big picture, or they tried to milk the series as long as they could without regard. either way, it doesn't make a very good television show
a stupid disorganized post is all this deserves!!
Oh no no, I meant the flash sideways was
purgatory. They spelled that part out pretty clearly at the end. One of the few mysteries they gave a pretty definitive answer for. I agree that it didn't answer a lot, but as I watched the finale I pretty much thought "yeah that other stuff doesn't really matter to me anymore". Admittedly, it's going to cheapen the series as a whole when I watch it all the way through on DVD, but as of now, I couldn't really care less that they didn't answer stuff about Walt, and
the mysterious light or anything like that.
lost and 24 both finish on successive days; fans of dumb television are devastated
Basically. Chuck and Supernatural are all I have left.
