Sup guys. Dunno if this has been asked before but right now i'm not in the mood to search. So. What I want to do is simply give Variables a name. But i have a lot of variables to name (stats n stuff for like 14 charas). I get bored of re-typing the same stuff over n over so for the love of God, is there anyone out there who knows how to like open the variable database in like notepad or something? lulz. Thanks for readin. N hope i get some helpful replies ^^

You can find the variables in notepad, but trying to edit them will corrupt the ldb file. If someone's written a specialised editor for it, I haven't heard of it.

There was a guy making an rm2k clone, maybe someone knows how to or has a program to edit the rm2k database
Play Raimond Ex (if you haven't already)

I'll not TAKE ANYTHING you write like this seriously because it looks dumb

http://easyrpg.sourceforge.net/

It seems they have an editor (need to compile it yourself), but I extremely doubt there's any kind of batch variable naming functionality. If someone really wanted they could use their ldb reader code to write something like that, but I don't see it happening. I think you're better off just sucking it in and plowing through it, hell I doubt you've had to name more variables than me. ^^

I'll take a look at what you have all provided for me now, and thanks for the replies.

If all else fails then yea, I guess I have no choice. And helllz no could I ever of  used as many variables n switches as you did. Haha. I think the most I have ever used up in my half finished systems is about 500-700. But it just sucks having to repeat the same process. Saying that though, most of RM is just repeating the same process but for different charas or whatnot.

Well I'll let you guys know how this gets on.

Ughhhh....damn you RPG Maker.  Ya know what option is missing from the switch n variable database, the "Multi-copy" option.
Its in everything but the switches n variables!
Anyway thanks for your help guys.

sue445's RM2k(3) debugger has a feature to import/export variable names as text files.

Hey Cherry, I used that app and the option to import/export is always blanked out. All of the "tools" options are blanked out. All this little app looks like its doing is searching for variables and switches and then letting you know where they are.

Can you help me out some more please bro?

Plus, nice release on your ultimate rpg maker. I wish we had all that back in 2003....They where the days :)

Cheers man!

Hm, I see.

Because of legal reasons (??), this app wants you to have the original Japanese RM2k3 v1.09a installed to open RM2k3 games or Japanese RM2k v1.51 to open RM2k games.

I only have the Japanese RM2k, but no Japanese RM2k3. I'll look for it and provide it to you so you can use the app. Sorry!

Best regards,
Cherry
