My HDMI Cable had been working fine for a while now but recently in the last few weeks it stopped working roughly around the time I updated windows with one of those regular updates it does. I purchased another HDMI Cable thinking it was the cable which was faulty but it continues to not work so I'm guessing its the laptop.  Any suggestions?

Have you tried making sure that your HDMI cable is straight so that the video packets can run smoothly without getting caught into your output source?

Yeah it worked, sorry should have said so. But, I thought solving this solution would somehow solve my other problem.

I purchased a gaming pc a week or two ago, It didnt come with a monitor. I figured I would just use the TV I've been using to hook my laptop to with the HDMI Cable, but there doesnt seem to be any signal getting through with the PC. The keyboard doesnt have function keys which you helped point out for me with my laptop so I havnt a clue how to activate the HDMI Cable with the pc like I did with the laptop.

Any ideas?

I cant get any image to show up at all, so I cant check control panel. The monitor for the pc is my tv but like I mentioned before theirs no image getting through.

I cant check any settings for the pc, all I can do is stick the wire in and turn it on.. only for nothing to happen on screen.

You definatly need a monitor to set up the multi screen view. Espeically if its a Nvidia gfx card. If you cant get your mits on one then the only thing i can sugest is.......well nothing really. You're gonna need a monitor to see what you're doing.

Turns out I'm a f*$£ing idiot.

I wasnt using the proper cable, was using a scart lead (apparantly) to connect my laptop to my tv. I purchased an 'actual' HDMI cable.
