hey coolies/pals, i need a MIDI file of all things to get converted into a mp3. i need a trusted pal into this. can i trust you pals? i don't care of any VST's or soundfonts or whatever, actually the built-in midi card sounds works perfectly for this. my computer can't do this!

i need it converted asap (as soon as plausible/possible). can you do it? duck rogers?

i don't know exactly what you are asking for, but i am drunk right now. in the morning i'll be here and try to help. why can't you do this alone? i definitely don't mean to be rude but if a piece of dung like This One can then why not. I'll be That One.

i don't have access to my normal setup so otherwise i would try.  Once again though, why is it that you are unable to do this yourself? Do you not know of software and stuff like that or what exactly are you looking for?  A midi is going to translate different to other people since it itself does not store the audio within the file, but rather is just a list of notes that is then played about the midi synth that is in the computer where the file is being read, so it is going to sound different most likely on another persons computer depending on their soundcard and what not.  Can you have the midi play and somehow record the sound out from that audio and then have the raw audio of it instead?

I just need to either record or convert this MIDI song i have done to a mp3.

Since i have planned/made the song with the original, crude midi sounds (that i actually managed to make sound GOOD), i wanted these sounds to stay intact so that the feel of the song wouldn't change.

Thus i need somebody to uh record this with their own midi card I DON'T KNOW HOW. Yes, i know the sounds may change but i'm just assuming that they won't change much since/if you are using your computer's default soundcard.

also herobash that is really nice and you'd be the saviour if that site didn't force some soundfonts for everything.

so uh are you guys trying to tell me that eg. direct recording from the computer's output for midi's is not possible...?! also i can't do this, my computer is absolute shit and i have tried this in the past!

Open your audio recording software, set input as "audio mix" (or whatever it is called on your computer). Then play the MIDI on some audio player, then push record? This is pretty much the only way I can think of how to do this.

I can probably do this for you if you give me the MIDI.

Also woah audition. Good luck man!!!

step 1: get an mp3 output plugin for Winamp (which is the best audio player for windows and you should already be using anyway)
step 2: at this point, your winamp becomes one big mp3 converting beast.
step 3: ???
step 4: profit!
fuck it all, dd is dead

doesn't winamp come with the disk writer plugin anyway? doesn't really do what it says on the tin, writes to file(s)

A mothafucking doubley congratulationations to my main mano bonzi_"I get all chords by ear"_bud"motherfuck"dy who is kicking ass and turning 21   AS   WE  SPEAK  !!!

(earl, the UI in foobar is very flexible, you can make it look like anything. Or just download some cool looking skin. The whole point of foobar is that by installing different components you can make it work, look and behave exactly to your liking, and it's pretty easy to share configurations.)
