it kinda treads on the kafka/lynch territory but at the end of the day is really more like jacob's ladder than anything else, which i strongly disliked.
This is kind of off topic but what about Jacob's Ladder did you strongly dislike? I thought it was a pretty interesting look at the proccess of death, although I wouldn't say it was a profound statement or anything.
And besides some of the imagery (such as hospital stretchers and faceless creatures) I didn't think they had that much to do with Jacob's Ladder. It's more like they took some elements from the movie and did something else with it, much like they did with elements from Lynch and Kafka.
