So there is this concert I've been dying to attend, the problem is I thevip seats are really expensive, converted to usd, it amounts to above 363$.. Obviously I don't have this amount of money and in the end might settle on the cheapest ticket - about 10$.. but it's seriously far and I might not enjoy it much cause I'm near sighted.

Right now, I'm saving up to increase my concert budget, using my allowance, skipping lunch and stuff. Maybe I could settle in the other tickets between those two.

So jus ta question, how much would you pay to go watch your favorite singers or entertainers on stage. How much would you be willing to sacrifice for a show you would surely enjoy.

i don't know how much i really get worked up about seeing particular celebrity musicians in person anymore. although, i suppose i'd probably pay alot of money to see john frusciante play solo live cos i never did see him solo. yeah come to think about it i don't know if i have a set upper limit on that. if i had the money lying around i'd probably live with paying like 100 pounds or something but it would never cost that much anyway probably like 20.

i dunno. i'm not that hung up on how much something costs if it's something i really want to do although i'd definitely just go for a lower end ticket rather than pay 350 dollars for it! i don't see how the difference in price, the amount of other potential events/experiences you could spend that money on could be worth it really, it's all the same show. even if the version you saw was a little obscured by a pillar erected in your eyeline or you got some bad acoustics. you can always just get up and move around to find different spots if it's that bad.

yea but here shows, especially international hits go for the colliseum which is a real big dome fit for concert and the likes. Also I'm also after the effervesence, that grandious feeling of being there with thousands of co-fans.

but yea 350 is so way out of the line. I'm pretty sure politicians and celebrities would have those tickets. So hopefully by saving I'll be able to afford a 70$ ticket.

Nowhere near that. I saw my favorite band for i think it was 25 dollars. Standing room only, as it should be. and was able to be up front.

i'd say $100 would be my absolute top limit and it would have to be for something pretty spectacular.

it really depends. im probably going to end up blowing a bunch of money to see david bowie, if i get the chance, because i would hate to not see him before he dies. most bands i probably wouldn't pay more than like $20 to go see. also depends on the venue, if my friends are going, if the band is known to put on a good live show and how much spare cash i have at the time. in general, id probably say $20, $75 if i really want to see them and it promises to be a good time, and then id probably pay more to see someone like david bowie, since the only other option is not see him ever.

For a single band? Around 50-60 euros at most, I suppose. I have paid around 50 euros to see Porcupine Tree and Mew was 45 euros or so. Too bad I didn't even get to see Mew because I forgot about the concert and went on aoven overnight cruise the day before and I had the worst hangr ever and really couldn't go. That was dumb. :(

i guess 300+ is wishful thinking to have. this isn't even a band i'm going to attend just some singers. so there'd be no crazy shouting and dancing

i'd probably pay something like $100 to see orbital, but that's mainly because they haven't performed in this stupid country in almost 10 years and don't really do that sort of thing anymore anyway. maybe similar amounts for special occasion shit like that. i don't see myself going more than like $30-40 for anything else, and even then it'd have to be something i'm really interested in.

i don't think i've been to a concert in about fifteen years, now that i think about it*. the only fuckers that ever perform around here are total goddamn rubbish and the people i'd be even vaguely interested in seeing never come around here. and when they do i always find out after the fact, like when ott hit washington, dc recently and i found out a week late.

*actually no i did see my friend's sister's boyfriend's band play at some half-abandoned theatre that nobody showed up to, but they were profoundly fucking awful and i ended up getting bored and trying to set the building on fire through carefully-placed cigarette burns(it didn't work). i also remember spending like twenty minutes afterward trying to come up with a hilarious way to ask them if they actually had any idea how to play those instruments, but nothing came to me so i gave up.
