I'm kind of surprised that there is no topic about this yet since GW has a few devoted fighter fans. Anyway, obviously this is the third installment in the Marvel Vs Capcom series.

For those who do not know how Marvel vs Capcom games play:
Quote
Marvel vs. Capcom 3 is a fighting game where up to two players compete in battle using characters with their own unique fighting styles and special attacks. The game features the same tag-based team feature as previous installments of the series, where each player chooses three characters that can be swapped at any point during a match, and utilizes an order selection called "Evolved Vs. Fighting System", a modified version of earlier systems seen in other Marvel vs. Capcom and Capcom vs. SNK crossover games. It is the first game in the franchise to feature three-dimensional character models as opposed to two-dimensional sprites, though gameplay remains restricted to two-dimensions, allowing characters to move only backward, forward, or straight up into the air.

There are supposedly going to be around 42 characters or so. Here are the revealed characters so far.

Capcom Characters
Amaterasu
Arthur
Chris
Chun-Li
Dante
Felicia
Jill
Morrigan
Ryu
Spencer
Trish
Tron Bonne
Viewtiful Joe
Wesker
Zero

Marvel Characters
Captain America
Deadpool
Dormammu
Dr. Doom
Hulk
Iron Man
M.O.D.O.K.
Magneto
She-Hulk
Shuma-Gorath
Spider-Man
Super Skrull
Thor
Wolverine
X-23

Here's the character page on the official MvC3 website, so if you don't know who the heck some characters are, this page should help: http://marvelvscapcom3.com/us/characters

Nobody is really sure who the rest of the characters are, but a lot of rumours point to a few such as Crimson Viper, Frank West, Haggar, M. Bison, Mega Man, Storm (X-Men), and Strider Hiryu.

Here are a few videos as well!

Marvel Vs Capcom 3 is due out early next year, most likely during March.

I've kind of made a vow not to waste anymore money on the overpriced pieces of poop they've been spewing out recently but I'm really excited for this game. The thing I can respect about capcom is they seem to actually care about their fanbase and I think they proved that with everything they did to SSFIV so this will probably be a day 1 purchase for me.

I mean shit, MODOK, Viewtiful Joe, the Wolf from Okami, Arthur, I don't really care about Dante or Deadpool but they are cool too I guess. I hope they throw in the training/challenge things from SSFIV but there's a shitload of characters so probably not.

Actually I read that they are probably going to include trials in MvC3.

There was recently a tweet on the official MvC3 Twitter asking "which unannounced female characters are on your holiday wish lists?"

So.. Looks like a few more female characters will be show sometime soon, I guess. I'm guessing Crimson Viper and Storm.

She-Hulk and Zero were announced today. I don't care much about She-Hulk, but it's good to see another Marvel girl join the cast at least. However, I'm pumped for Zero. I was really hoping that he would make the cut, so I'm a happy guy!

Judging from the videos, She-Hulk looks a little clunky at the moment. Zero looks godly, though. I have a feeling that an Amaterasu + Dante + Zero team will be murder.

Jill and Shuma-Gorath revealed now. This is a busy week for MvC3!

Both characters will be DLC only, but will be free with the collector's edition. No screenshots yet, only artwork.

Kinda awful to have DLC before the game is even out.

Yeah, a bit, but at least they're honest with it instead of taking what a lot of games are doing...  "Oh, we withheld the final bits of the game because they weren't finished on time, we're gonna charge you another $10 for the full experience when they're done in three months."

Well, Jill and Shuma-Gorath won't be available even to those who bought the collector's edition until four weeks after the game comes out, so it's being speculated that they won't be ready when the game comes out.

That's not how Capcom works. Jill and Shuma-Gorath will be complete and their data will even be on the disk at launch. The DLC will be released to everyone four weeks after launch, and the Collector's Edition only comes with a code that will let you download it for free. It's not like there will be a time when only people who bought the Collector's Edition will have access to the characters.

I find it interesting that they used Zero's theme in MMX2 and not MMX1 during his first appearance in the intro stage or his theme in the intro stage of MMX3 - the first time he is playable. IIRC the theme they chose from X2 came from a non-canon fight you'd get only if you went through the game and didn't finish collecting zero's body parts.

I'd be all for that! I'll be getting MvC3 for the PS3.

Yeah, everybody seems confused by the choice Capcom made. I, along with many other people, think that Capcom should have used the following one instead.

I'm really hoping for PW but with the Ace Attorney/Professor Layton crossover coming up it's hard to stay mad at Capcom.

Looks like they are still adding characters. Never was really into Storm, but C.Viper is an alright addition I guess. But yeah, this game does look really awesome, I like that capcom is bringing in tons of new characters(Nathan Rad Spencer, Wesker, Dante, ect.) and i'm satisfied with most of the returning characters.

Gotta love american translation sometimes...
