Personal preferences I guess. All of us within the team has grown up playing a lot of korean MMO's (mainly Ragnarok Online) and love the grinding aspect. And by grinding I don't mean it in the sense that you are forced to stick around in a area cause you are under leveled or whatever. But if you do, you might end up finding some sweet gear or other cool stuff.
Finding super rare items and shit like that is one of my favorite parts of gaming. Like finding that frickin Golem soul in Dawn of Sorrow after spending days killing golems. I think it's a super rewarding feeling. I know it's not everybody's cup of tea, in this day and age it's probably not many people that are into it. But hopefully we can seduce some old school gamers to give our shit a try at least.

For some people, the battles are the best part of playing RPGs. I have over 80 hours on Phantom Brave right now and I am only a little more than half way through it. And the reason I have so many hours is because I do ALOT of extra battling in order to further customize my characters and weapons. The story is kewl too and I COULD rush through the battles just to see it, but I am having more fun just battling.

I couldn't have said it any better myself.

(Eldboll, you are pretty much making almost the exact game I want to make, but with better graphics. What engine are you using? Are you guys programming it from scratch so you can get the co-op gameplay to work the way you want it?)

2 Shots of my current project "Aqua Nebulon"
It will be a mix of underwater shoot em up and rpg elements with a gradius-style weapon system.
New weapon systems can be gained by doing quests or can be bought from NPCs in exchange for collected crystals.

I will release a first demo in a few weeks.

The castle looks strange being in isometric view with windows and banners facing us.

But nice screens anyway.

Thanks for the reply!
I have yet to skew all the 2d graphics to make them isometric. Hopefully that will be done soon!

Aptos Adventures 1: Complete, Chapter 6.
Well it's been a year since I started working on Aptos Adventures 1: Complete version. Not as much progress done as I'd like. Aptos Adventures II has been on hiatus a bit. I've finished 20/100 enemies in clay. I'm adding too much new stuff, chapter six is going to be a little different from the original.

BEFORE

AFTER- Yes, those tanks are ripped from Contra III. and the hovercrafts are a palette swap from Crono Trigger

Few screens

Mostly just showcasing the edited faceset. Feedback is very welcome.

This obese goblin is bloated beyond all recognition. Having grown giant sized, her feeble feet sway as useless, completely lacking even basic dexterity. Her heavy going into chaos has also added to corrupting her appearance, making her seem even more monstrous. She is even more tough than she looks. You're best to avoid her territory, unless you're super well geared or very, very strong.

And that's when I decided to become a barber.
