evolutionary psychology is impossible to sokal because the assumptions they operate under are already so furiously unscientific that you would be contributing to the field by trying to get them to publish lies. unfortunately a lot of criticism of evo psych ends up leaning back on the SSSM also so idk. maybe evo psych will become the dominant paradigm in the social sciences because they publish the most newsworthy tabloid and anthropology has disqualified itself officially as a science (http://chronicle.com/blogs/innovations/anthropology-association-rejecting-science/27936)

It is a bit of a naff status symbol. Who knows though they could have an excellent frequency response that puts all other headphones to shame. Oh wait they're made by HP.

I listened to some Dre headphones in Best Buy once and they do sound pretty good.  But I don't think they sound as good as you have to pay for them.  My Aerial7's sound just about as good and they were only around $60 as opposed to what $200+?

I only wear buds because I think the headsets look stupid and I also use em when I work out. Gotta find good buds though I went and got some from bestbuy that cancel out sound but I don't like them because they got this little box thing on them that always falls off of my shorts or my pocket because the clip sucks and they're too heavy.

They're not as bulky as full headphones, but you also don't have to shove them into your ears.

Maybe it's because they press my ears into my glasses but I can't wear headphones if they're not full over-the-ear or earbuds.  And over-the-ear headphones are much nicer on the bus because it blocks out a lot of the white noise the bus makes without me having to turn my music up way too loud.

I like to think of that kind as nerdphones because I everyone I know who wears them does a softeng or compsci degree. I have mediocre panasonic headphones. I use them to make music because I can. Don't like earbuds because they agitate my ears and sound like shit.

I got sennheisers recently for £20 and they are pretty great. I'm sure there are plenty of expensive headphones with better sound quality around, but I don't feel any need to get much better than this! They are really loud, cancel all noise, and i can hear parts of songs i've never heard before. also are helping me be more careful in mixing my own music.

Also the people getting these beats headphones are iphone toting glasgow students in their 20's, so i guess the status symbol thing is 'i have money. look how i waste it ha ha'. i'm steamed!!
