yeah the generic minimalist 'matte plastic' design has been pretty popular for a few years now..... I don't get it.
it's kind of the setup that our hip internet generation sort of fostered and since it happens to be so simple corporations have 0 trouble imitating it and it is getting old quickly.  lots ofcorporations comin through the woodworks and capitalizin on ya culture - but then again I guess that's always been the case. we've got our waves our counter-culture > capitalized on > new counter-culture > capitalized on again, repeat, it's just hella exacerbated by "Web 2.0".... oh man keyboard cat appeared in a pistachio commercial #swagpistachios

it's a big game of cat and mouse. the cat is fat and corporate. the mouse is a young aloof constantly slipping away. the cheese is pop culture. this metaphor is getting out of hand. lined the floors of my home with mouse traps. trapped in here. help... me...

here you have people who imitate politicians like that in order to sound edgy/usually mixing in south park and family guy references

"wait.... wait for it........ THE BICYCLE! yes..... I'm not making this up folks!"

Yeah, I never learned to drive a car either because I just don't feel like I need to. Everything I need is easy enough to access via public transport or bicycle.
I'm in the US and 23. And I'm just now bothering to get a driver's license (currently on a waiting period to take test). That is like, unheard of here.

Honestly. Always felt kind of stupid for not going for one earlier as it leaves me dependent on others to get anywhere. Mainly because, back in AZ, public transport was retarded, and here, in Nowhere, Indiana its non-existant.

i'm still fuming over the generic twee-ness and faux-cute appropriation of psychedelic design ideals resulting in the most banal shit imaginable. Jeff Koons and Andy Warhol are heavily ironic yet people truely hold banality up as the greatest thing ever.
Though to be fair, I have never actually heard anybody say that they like listening to noah and the whale, so I still have a little bit of faith.

these are the people who claim they're "halfway between liberal and conservative" (actually talking about democrats and republicans and actually just conservative) and complain about political correctness, affirmative action and bitches while downing bud light/are currently expanding into 90s cartoons and microbreweries so we won't be able to like them anymore

These are the worst people because they don't even do this in order to espouse a genuine ideology, they do it because they like appearing intelligent and well-reasoned to other people. They're political hipsters, and actually thinking about things is so last century.

this might be some wistful post-sleep sort of thought and lol Matrix but with all the stuff going on worldwide it's a good time to make some movie with some ridiculous romanticized portrayal of hackers and might actually be good relevant movie or just good dumb fun. But it would probably end up rimming the anus of Facebook or be like every gay superhero movie that comes out

lol I just remembered Girl With the Dragon Tattoo is coming out directed by Fight Club guy. That might be what I'm hoping for. But that's more like THRILLER I was talking more like kind of dumb fun movie with future cyberpunk version of wikileaks and they uncover secrets that cater to conspiracy theorists like every Area 51 etc. fantasy they hope is true. I miss fun dumb paranormal/conspiracy sort of movies in the 90's/early 00's? instead of everyone on Youtube actually believing in them. There's erm Fringe and some things like that but it's not really fun or dumb enough

Edit: basically something not even trying present itself as reality but some dumb dreamworld of random dumb speculative shit from real life. Like Bladerunner is blah blah something computers scary Japan robots kind of scary what if this and that

I guess we're too INFORMED these days and it'd be really hard to find a clueless guy who would construct this ridiculous idea of what Anonymous is in his head, but yeah I was even implying Anonymous would be imagined as these super-cool hackers who actually know how to hack but it's just portrayed as a bunch of flashing screens anyway. Maybe you still misoverestimate how LITERAL the movie would be the basic idea of bringing down sites can be exaggerated to ddosing cia.gov would actually make the CIA shut down/ mainframes would explode at random/and then just make them cool antiheros and you're all set. But yeah I miss when the media was kind of clueless instead of shows/commercials reading my mind (30 Rock looks on in astonishment)

I dunno maybe we've lost some ability to make dumb speculations because we're being fairly well-informed now with Internet (not EVERYONE ok) but I think even dumb people know Europe exists now etc.

Edit: gah nostalgia is weird I just realized the Chia pet song is like fun generic island music. I also didn't know the COPS song was a reggae song until recently. Not that I couldn't have figured it out I just hadn't put any thought into it, or I invented a genre in my head (sounds like COPSMUSIC)

warner brothers, a mass global corporation have made millions off of anti-corporation protestors buying their lisenced replica masks.
It's about as futile as when RATM became christmas number one in the UK a few years back, as a response to The X-Factor, even though they were on the same record lable as each other.

When we're all sitting in our post-irreversible global warming bunkers eating protein paste rations because of the global collapse of agriculture, we can watch this video by Senator Inhofe and wonder why we didn't just guillotine the entire political system when we still had the chance to do anything.
