This morning, I had a dream that I was forced to participate in a field trip to a Heaven Tower for school. The Tower stretched up into heaven, over ten thousand miles in height, and its low-poly architecture was textured with solid colours. I was terrified of heights and didn't want to climb up the sides. Unfortunately, the jungle island on which the Tower stood was difficult to navigate despite being about a half-mile in diameter, and didn't have much geometry beyond some very steep drop-offs on the coastlines, so I had no other place to go. I could walk on the sandy beaches without problems, even when their surfaces were almost vertical. Unfortunately, there was no way I could stay down here, because I was constantly being dragged towards the water, a completely blank ocean that extended infinitely in every direction. I knew that if I sank off of the banks and into the ocean entirely, I would be trapped for all eternity in the blue, dataless void, doomed to wander.
I had to climb up the tower, alone, because even though we went as a class, everyone was on their own to quest for the top, the Heaven Cathedral, in which lies the Prize Cup, the Grail of Babel. The tower constantly shifted as we climbed, each clearly defined floor possessing a different architectural theme and colour scheme. I passed through clouds, which marked boundaries between groups of ten floors. Heaven was the very last of dozens of floors, high in the sky, a pinpoint on top of a needle piercing a beautiful blanket of identical clouds that extended into every horizon, blotting out the ocean. The walls of the tower dissolved and reformed into loops and shining columns, splitting and combining at random, yet settling into magnificent symmetry through miracle fortune, constructing perfect, interwoven empyrean spires. Heaven's colors are: green, white. Heaven's monsters: Clutch of Angel Eggs, Green Orb, White Orb, S. Metatron. Heaven's treasure: Grail of Babel. (Heaven's Secret Treasures: Eschaton Relic 1. Eschaton Relic 2. Brass Crucifix. Eschaton Relic X.)
It takes years to clamber slowly up the side, fighting horrible Tower Monsters and defeating traps, puzzles, and mysterious temptations.
it was one of the most completely shitty dreams I've had in weeks. i'm terrified of heights and the ocean, and seeing both in conjunction, abstracted into their purest vidgame forms, wasn't really something i was ready for. the only solution... to make hategame to purge nerves...
