Has anyone heard of circuit bending? People find old electronics and fuss with the wiring to create janky makeshift instruments. The most commonly repurposed devices seem to be old children's music toys. Here's the video I found out about it.

I've never done it but I've always fucking loved what I've see people done. I always thought VS had a circuit bent speak n spell but come to think of it I don't actually know if it's circuit bending or complex sample editing alone wouldn't put either past him

furbies are a classic non musical one, I see now somebody finally fixed one up to sync to a synth... still like the idea he talks about early on about 50 furbies each tuned to a different note. It's like a safe version of that old idea from ??? horror film about trapping cats by meow pitch in a giant organ that hits their tails on notes, w/ robots being tortured instead. (spray painted on a gray brick wall) No Mercy to Furbies...

I always thought this song had a really bare, dungeon vibe to it, like it started off like this. Like analogous attitude to jrpg chiptunes.
