I was just thinking about a few games I kinda regret/not bothered to complete like, fallout vegas. For some reason I just lost interest in console gaming and dropped all the games I was playing on the PS3 at the time including fallout.

Also always wanted to complete an old spiderman game I had on the sega but it kicked my ass everytime. Dont remember the name but I would always reach as far as electro before getting my ass handed to me.

Any games you guys hope to get around to finishing or games you just never bothered to complete?

Curse of Monkey Island. I totally love that game but for some reason I never played it through to the end.

Rayman too, but I think that's because you need to find every single cage before you can do the last part and I never quite got around that.

I didn't finish OoT until I got the 3DS version just recently.  Had always meant to and started a very good attempt but it was on an emulator and my hard drive failed.

Here's some games I still haven't finished and which I feel Regretful for not finishing:  Normality, Harvester, Deadly Premonition, Space Funeral (i promise soon catamites...soon), Earthbound, Link to the Past

I never used to finish games when I was younger. now I just think I've already invested way too much time into this garbage, I might as well finish it! unless the game is good all the way through, but that's pretty rare. I've beaten every new game I've played since around the time I got out of high school, including shit like Dragon Age. I also play fewer games now that I'm in college, so that probably factors into it a little.

some specific games I've never been able to finish
baldur's gate I and II: I put a lot of hours into both of these games, but I always ended up creating another character and starting over once I got bored with the one I was playing, or when I come back to the game after not playing it for a year and can't remember what kind of character I was playing or why they were interesting to me

every final fantasy I've played. I know I got to the last boss in ff9, but I don't think I beat it. I got to the final boss in 12 but I didn't beat him either. the rest of the games I never got close

Blade Runner (PC point and click adventure game). I got up to a point where I'm running from a bomb, but try as I might, I couldn't outrun it. Turns out it was a timing issue with faster CPUs. I just lost interest at that point, though. It's a great game and I may return to it.

Outcast (again, a PC adventure game, but not point and click). I warped to some watery world and then I lost interest. Another great game that I may return to someday.

Quest for Glory V. I played through and loved Quest for Glory 1-4 (except 3, that was a clearly rushed game with some poorly-implemented mechanics). Quest for Glory V bored the hell out of me. The game felt unfocused and I disliked how they ditched adventure elements for more RPG elements. I probably would have completed this game if they put in co-op. Unfortunately co-op play was dropped during development.

I've never gotten around to beating Ocarina of Time. I seriously started it at the beginning of the summer with every intent of finally finishing it, but then I went to Europe and obviously didn't play it for a couple of weeks and every time I tried to start it up again since I've lost interest. I got to the fucking spirit temple and stopped. I might try to beat it in this last week before school starts.

I also never beat Final Fantasy VII. I got to the part where it's just like "Go find Sephiroth. He isn't here, so try the next town" for like 5 towns and stopped caring.

I haven't beaten like 90 percent of the Mario games I've played. In fact, I think I only beat SMB3 and Super Mario World.

Is that the one in the desert? cause i didn't mind that one. At least it wasn't the water temple.

I still haven't finished half life 2. But I've been playing it and hitman blood money lately whenever I play a game so I'm working on it.

Oh, no sorry I was thinking of Shadow Temple.  Fuck the Shadow Temple.  Spirit Temple is fine, and there's really nothing wrong with the Water Temple on the 3DS version (since you can switch boots instantly).

Water levels like that are just tedious though. I hated it in super mario 64 as well.

I hate water levels too but I'm pretty sure the biggest gripe everyone had with the water temple was the boot switching which was tedious as fuck on the N64 but is easy as heck on the 3DS.

guys, the shadow temple is the best.  you're wrong.  just straight up wrong.

probably the only two games that I actually regret not beating are Earthbound and Deus Ex.  They're both games that I enjoy a lot but I always eventually just stop playing them for whatever reason and by the time I get back to playing them I feel like I have to start over to avoid having  very disjointed experience.  Also I have Deus Ex for the PS2 and the load times are atrocious so that doesn't help.

Final Fantasy Tactics is the only FF game I've beaten, and I've played all the others (including Mystic Quest), except for X and X2.

I've watched Paolo beat 7 though, hooray!

Any Disgaea game - I also haven't beaten. I get to the hardcore grinding, then after a month wonder what I'm doing with my life.

Looking back, I don't think I've properly completed a game that wasn't A) a suikoden game, B) a tactical RPG, c) Warhammer game, since the days of SNES and the rule of 2D PLATFORMERS. EVen then I didn't complete most of them.

I am like a magpie; the second something shiny and new appears, I need to do that instead.
Hey hey hey

See: My Backloggery (in my sig)

Currently working to fix that I have so many incomplete games in my collection (and out)

But I'm finding that some games are too frustrating/boring/heavily aged to beat. So I've been beating/completing games on a case by case basis. so far, I'm beating most with little trouble. but I do occasionally hit a speed bump of a game, or life happens and I can't play for a while. I'm determined to beat/complete (and in rare cases understand that I might as well skip) all of it though. I've been making progress, the 'yearly report' part of backloggery isn't completely accurate, I plan on beating everything in both owned and wishlisted games. coming to about 300-400 games or so. Yeah, I know its going to take me a long while.

It's when you get to Fourside and suddenly the pure linear momentum of the first three towns is replaced by this huge city you're wandering around lost in for hours. You have to go back to the desert. You might have to make multiple trips between the city and desert. Figuring out what to do at this point can take ages if you're not looking at a FAQ.

If memory serves, the game really starts throwing battles at you that are tough enough that you'll have to stop n' grind around that time.

It's no excuse though, you have to play the game because it's fucking brilliant and you need its context for Mother 3, which is fucking brilliant.

I've never been able to play earthbound straight through, but I am a notoriously slow gamer. I like to explore everything and talk to everyone and hang out in towns.
