in 11 hours and 28 minutes (on hard btw, should have set it to nightmare but oh well), I won't mention seconds as that seems a little arbitrary. I won't spoil the ending but I will say it was hugely disapointing, I can only sumise that we'll get more in DLC which in my opinion is BS.
Why the fuck should we have to pay MORE just to see the ending this part of the story? Seriously it's like releasing a movie halfway done and then asking the audiance to wait several months and then pay to see the second part (I'm looking at you HP 7)  We paid for a game and story, the least they could do is finish the damn thing, I think it's a pretty shitty thing to make us pay extra for the end of the story when we've already paid for it.
See here's the thing, It takes 21GB to install, cost £30 and yet we don't even get a real ending, whats worse is relativly  there's hardly any content. I think that ID are taking the Piss in giving us a story ending via DLC. DLC's are for EXPANIONS, that is EXPANDNG the story and game with new content to keep it fresh (and to line the publisher's pockets), not for FINISHING IT.
For the record, Skyrim is about 300 hours of gameplay and it only fits on 1 DVD (rage has 3 btw) and I can get it for about £5 cheaper then RAGE.

p.s. What I did play was fun, and the Lighting (whilst static) and shading were spectacular (some scenes looked like hand drawn concept art, aliasing ruined the effect though, can't go higher then 4X) the textures were kinda bad in some parts. I just hope that mods will come out and add some content.

EDIT: I just realised I should have made a joke about RAGING or being in a RAGE or some RAGE joke... damn, too late, I was far too gone in a RAGE to think of it a the time... ok that was bad... I'm done.

DLC makes me so mad.  The way that current game pricing and monetization is going almost guarantees I won't buy anything until it's a 20 dollar Steam deal (Skyrim and Diablo 3 may be exceptions to this).

£40 for a new game then £10 for two-five hours of additional content released every few months.
At least there's only ever like 3 good games released a year. Sucks for those people who like gow/cod/moh/whatever generic greybrown shooting game, as they come out yearly.

Do you want to know if something is a good idea, all you need to do is to try and sell it.

If it's something people with their infinite capacity of free will give you money for, and then continue doing so at their own discretion, it must be a good idea.

By this logic DLC must be a great idea. If you want to try to prove me wrong, you'll have take it up with the heaps of people paying good money just to reinforce the idea that DLC makes game developers lots of money.

If you are the kind of person who wants to play 'Game X' all the way through, but the developers refuse to give it to you without charing you extra (despite the original price being marked up to begin with), then take it up with those people who are willing to pay the extra. But be warned, they are buying that DLC only because they hate you and revel in the ability to indirectly deny you gameplay through the unwavering support of DLC. Asking them directly to stop will only confirm in their minds that they have accomplished their goal of having influence on making that one aspect of your life slightly worse off.

If I had money like that, I wouldn't just buy the DLC for games including those I don't even intend to play. I would provide large charitable donations to only those companies that provide the DLC, enclosing a letter to make sure that every last bit of the extra money I give them is used to set up even more convoluted and expensive "content expansion" systems for their future video games. (If they could do it for their already released video games though, I'd give them even more money)

All of this I would do only because I have money to throw away, and it's hard to think of things better to do with it than to upset as many gamers as I possibly can. Yeah I could feed the hungry or try to turn around a third world country. But it's exactly because I could be doing those things, that would piss off gamers even more that I am using the money just to piss off gamers. It's like a two-for-one.

COD got crap after number 2, at least that's what I felt... i think i might go back and play it again... any way, TBH i've never liked modern shooters, they all feel the same, they all look the same and they all play the same (neer enough) so i just don't care. I'd much rather spend £30 on rage then MW3 or BF3 that said....

Comparing games you have played (RAGE) to games you have't played (Skyrim) is stupid no matter which way you're arguing. Also, Skyrim will probably take up so little space compared to Rage because it'll be using way outdated graphics technology and will generally look pretty mediocre by modern standards. Not that I give a shit, but that's pretty much a given with Bethesda games.

Don't actually give a shit about either game all that much though.

I wasn't compairing rage to skyrim, I was just saying, BRING ON SKYRIM cos i can't wait. and we don't know that skyrim will look outdated, no matter how HD there teasers are there never going to be accurate enough for us to trully get it becuase of the compression, but i wasn't compairing graphics any way so why bring it into the converstation? ( BTW rage has some amazing scenes that are ruined by blurry textures)

Rage has a pretty terrible auto-adjusting graphics settings thing, basically meaning most people on PC will see a lower quality texture than their box can probably handle. It's an interesting idea (they are obviously trying to keep high FPS) but forcing it seems kind of dumb.
yes coulombs are "germaine", did you learn that word at talk like a dick school?

I wasn't talking about the blury texture streaming popup thing, i just meant that in some scenes like the the one at the scientists lab for exmaple, looked like a hand drawn piece of conept art but what ruined the effect was that some of the textures were kinda low res, like on the gas cannisters that were there.

You were talking about disc space. Low fidelity fraphics explain why Skyrim uses less space. Rage has heaps of megatextures and the like, even if the game is coded retardedly and doesn't display them right.

Skyrim takes up less space becuase it tiles textures and re-uses textures a lot more, RAGE uses a lot of textures only once and no more, Those mega textures can be like 8x by 8x pixels, and there's one of those for every enviroment. so of course it's going to take up more space, my original point was that sky rim manages close to i think it was 300 hours on just 9GB of data  and yet rage is just over 11 hours long and yet is 25GB.
Also Skyrim doesn't have low fidelity, at least from what I could see in the trailer's, but then thats the problem. We cant' see it properly to trully determin that as compression on the movies tend to screw image clarity up.
