motivates you to think before posting and actually add something to the conversation.
Problem is that someone (a mod or admin) could interpret almost any post as worthless or overly offensive. (whether their
interpretation is fair or not). The line very well may be blurry, especially from mod to mod or even day to day if a mod is feeling particularly ban happy one day or the next. Furthermore, even if its reasonable, I don't want to have to stress when I go to talk to people on the internet over whether what I'm posting is OK or not. I generally post on the internet to unwind. There are occasions that I do stress over posts ANYWAY of course, but I wouldn't want to have to pore over every post I make to make sure I don't offend people so that the $10 I arguably wasted doesn't seem like even more of a waste.
This is coming from someone who has never been banned from anything before (internet or not). And I think I have gotten a grand total of 2 warns on this forum, possibly more. (never got a warn on any other forum) That's not perfect, but I've been here a while. I'd still stress over these sorts of things.
Paying a premium shouldn't be necessary for interesting and entertaining internet discussion and it isn't as far as I can tell.
I also admit, there is bitterness at the idea that I would be so stupid to be swindled. Its not so that I'd miss the $10 so much (though at this point, I'm so broke that I would indeed miss it), but I'd feel like a sucker. And I'd hardly call myself a prideful individual (maybe I am IDK). This is just something that seems like it'd be crossing one of my few lines.
My over active imagination: SA Admin laughing all the way to the bank at the chump that paid $10 to post on his forum and get banned over some arguably offensive post/post with oddball or uncomfortable views.
EDIT: Just to clarify: I'd just shrug at getting banned from a forum for a "arguably offensive post/post with oddball or uncomfortable view" assuming I hadn't paid $10 for the account. Namely because I'd realize I wouldn't want to post on said forum anymore anyway if I got banned (assuming I went there for discussion itself and not some sort of assistance).
