So what does that mean theme wise? Uh... I don't know... do whatever the hell you want. Just show us how talented you are at something. I've found that people are usually a lot more willing to cooperate in these things if they can do whatever.
For right now let's say that the due date is 2 months from today, so the due date is
March 4th
Can that change? Yeah absolutely. That just seemed like enough time. I understand that people have work and college to do so if that's a bad time just let me know.
So let's get this thing started! You can PM me your songs when you are done.

I would suggest a length limit at kinda around 5 minutes max, a few seconds over is no biggy. This is something we've had before in troubs, and is something I strongly agree with, on a personal level I find it hard to do tracks less than 7 minutes so i don't wnna clog up time with my nonsense, and i like the challenge :3

Oh yeah, that's a good idea. I usually don't write anything over 4 minutes so that didn't even occur to me. 5 minutes should be enough time to establish yourself on the album.

Also, I think for right now we should also have a 1 song per person limit. If it gets to the point where we are at the deadline and we only have like 4 or 5 songs then we can open it up to more.

should we aim for a talent show kind of vibe? like "look mum, no hands!" type stuff?

i'm in anyway, but this will determine whether i do something incredibly gimmick-oriented or just whatever i feel like.

I've never been part of this, should it be recorded? Could I use voice samples etc.. I know how to play guitar and I could sing pretty well but I don't have any good recording mic.

Hero Bash, as long as you have some recording it can be entered. If it's not the best quality of recording it's really not a big deal. The only thing I think should be avoided is like straight up MIDI file.

if i had an ounce of musical ability i would definitely do something for this..

I'm just as bad as everyone else. I've kind of been focusing on (losing miserably at) RMN's music competition. I'm not saying we're going to already increase the deadline, I'm just saying it probably will happen.
