Does anyone know what instruments are used in these:

There are some trumpets(?) and strings(what specifically), girl oohs, and that 'snapping' percussion (what do you call that?)

It sounds western-lik, what is the exact name of the genre? I really like how it sounds and would like to experiment making some of those reminds me of the game Wild Arms whose music are really good.
