I never get the irc I ttried a few years back going there but I'm not sure how it's different from just hanging out in the forums.

People have realtime conversations in IRC, whereas the forums sometimes go hours between posts. Plus you can steer the conversation in your direction (talkaboutgenitalsetc) whereas it's harder to do in this medium.

It's the difference between like E-MAIL and WRITING A LETTER or some shit.

I DLed mIRC once to try and get on and talk to Saltw folks a decent while back but I couldn't seem to get into the habit, I only got on like 3 times and the third time mIRC said my trial was up and that I needed to get the full registered version or something to continue so I uninstalled it.

There is also chatzilla plugin for firefox, neater imo than having a seperate app for it.

I wish you could run mIRC on Mac OS X.

But then again I also wish I could run Winamp 2.97.

been thinking of giving irc another shot bc I have the rest of this summer left before I burn in hell. what client do yall recommend besides mirc? I'd prefer as simple/dumb as possible

Should we consider putting a chatbox in the forums? I mean some forums have that chatbox near the tp of every page so you can chat while you forum

idk if there's an irc version (it'd really be nice if it was integrated in with our usual chat) but i know the new IPB has a built in chat button at the top yeah. definitely worth looking into.

have you tried the winamp beta for osx? I would try it but i'm still on 10.5 and it needs snow leopard or higher (i'm not paying for updates baah)

For japanese art/architecture wouldnt Amazon only have that mass produced standard merchandise. Might be able to find something with a little more character from ebay and perhaps something actually from japan.

Can imagine ordering from Amazon finding yourself with some sort of japanese print made in holland.
