-game can be about anything. a certain gameplay element, your favorite story, your favorite song. anything!
-you can enter in any number of short, medium, or large games.
-everything in said game(s) must be completed within september 2nd - september 8th

thecatamites - http://www.saltw.net/index.php?topic=83380.0
dicko -  https://dl.dropbox.com/u/18787702/g/weirdtape.html

the theme is MYSTERIES. make a bunch of games about mysteries!! cryptozoology, plain ghost stories, and various haunted houses are some examples.

remember! this is supposed to be laid back and fun! don't stress out too much about errors! you have a whole week to make as many tiny games, large games, and even some games that jump on rocks.

i am thinking of making a game like the sims only it's called "The S.A.M.S (Satanic-Assisted Magical Slaves)" and you have to successfully occupy a portion of a dungeon and strengthen it in the name of (1 of 4) cults. instead of normal furniture you get cool relics and magickal trinkets + shrines. the rest of the dungeon is filled with weird ghosts who you have to wipe out to expand your satanic empire.

i am not sure if this reality is a possibility but i am going to try making it when the time comes

ya a good open-ended/kinda ambiguous theme can be really helpful & not necessarily restrictive imo

I too would appreciate a theme... just because it's a bit easier to concede to churning out something less-than-stellar if you are sticking to a theme... that sounds kinda shitty but I'll never be able to come up with some game concept even with a whole week To Jam.
yes coulombs are "germaine", did you learn that word at talk like a dick school?

Man, I am no good with mystery. Although I will try this out solely because I already had a idea for a game along those lines that I really wanted to make, but not too sure if I can make it work cohesively within a week.

Basically you play a character that has recently been murdered, but have no recollection of your life before your murder. All you know is that your spirit has been tethered to the house where the murder took place, and you cannot move on until you find out how it happened.

You start out with only the faintest influence on the physical realm, but luckily for you a young family moves into the house where you were murdered. You soon discover that by preying on their various fears, you can draw energy from their living spirits. This allows you additional powers that lead to more significant influence on the physical realm, all with the hope that your supernatural influence can eventually shed light on the source of your mysterious death. (actually, Gargonherd's idea reminded me a lot of it... Well in that it's very much like a morbid version of the sims, but I really have no idea how I want to end it. I am not very well-versed in the compelling world of the mystery genre)
