I think I still have this naive "the world is your oyster" take on life but this
Quote
i just build a robust enough life outside of it all
helps too of course.

warped, what is with your view of mortality? do you really think you'll do/enjoy that much more in your artificially extended life to justify the effort?

i think my life might have been better, but mostly it would just be different.

Yes, but even if not, I'd rather be bored than dead. As an aside: I'm a atheist-agnostic, I doubt there is an existence after death, but I acknowledge the slim possibility, though I'd still prefer a life on earth to one in 'heaven' or existing as myself than having to deal with the messiness of reincarnation.

And already almost everyone on this forum is already bound to experience a 'artificially' extended lifespan anyway even if the advancement of medical science grinds to a halt. Or at least when it comes to the probabilities of their lifespan. I just want to have more than 10-40 extra years that med science currently (or at least arguably) increases it.

I also don't want to experience 'aging' in of itself. Becoming old and decrepit. Which if we extend our lives theoretically infinitely indefinitely we wont have to endure that shit.

Sorry went a bit off topic.

I would hate to live forever. Maybe it's because I'm still somewhat young, and if I could exist in my current form for 200 years maybe I'd feel differently, but it's just too long. Too much time. I really really REALLY want to see where science takes us, and what kinds of technological advancements there are in 200 years, but goddammit if I have to live through the interim.
